Why is rare for people to talk about mental health?

Why is rare for people to talk about mental health?

Why is it hard for people to talk about mental health and their struggles ??
Atleast for nowdays people are just trying to talk about mental health and mental illness. Though, so many people are not aware on how to deal with mental illness.
We have to find some means to talk about the causes and symptoms of mental problems; so as creat awareness and understanding within the community. Mental health is just like physical health etc

Ni kweli kabisa ,this is something that should be added in our conversations Kama tunavyoongela mada nyingine Kama soka, muziki etc
And thank you for sharing your thoughts ☺️

Mental illness experts (pyschiatrists??) say that all humam beings somehow suffer from a form of mental condition, only it is the magnitude of the condition which determines whether a person affected should be admitted in the hospital or not.

That's a fact ....why most people can't admit that they need psychological support every now and then thou ?

They can't admit only because the tool (brain/mind) that can be used for admitting the case is it self not okay, that is the same as; you can't blame a lame person for not walking while his feet, tools to be used for walking, are not okay.

Kwakweli...I like this perspective thank you for dropping your opinion

Hello. I think the main problem is that having mental problems is considered something shameful. People are embarrassed to go to a therapist so that someone they know doesn't see it and make them feel uncomfortable. It's good that there are services like Online therapy - Calmerry where you can contact a psychologist, therapist online and get advice without leaving your home.

The issue is not just mental illness/problem
The issue is financial issues plus economical issues
Which lead to mental problems
Some go far to relationship/ family dilemmas.

Ukisha elewa how mind works, financial issue haiwez kuwa kikwazo.maana huwezi ku fullfill kila ambacho mind ina demand.

I think there's still a lot of stigma surrounding mental health, even though we've come a long way. Many are afraid to admit their struggles, fearing judgment or misunderstanding.

The first time I truly contemplated my mental health was towards the end of my bachelor's. The stress from exams got to me, and I was battling depression. After graduation, I went for a neuropsych evaluation in NYC. I had a few online sessions with a therapist to ensure everything was alright upstairs. Thankfully, he said I was good to go.

He shared some golden advice: prioritize self-care, set boundaries, and maintain a work-life balance. Since then, I have been following these pieces of advice and never thought again of some mental health problems.
