paradoxically, Trump's own business empire survives only through philanthropic altruism of Asian and European banks and foreign investors whom now Trump threatens to hurt.

Far more alarming, Trump's US job creation strategy overrelies on raising debt ceiling and private capital inflows which need foreign input

If Trump will have his "self-centered" ways in four years he will not even contemplate seeking a second term because he will be heckled and booed wherever he goes and even the Republican controlled Congress may abandon him a gratitude to an impeachment process triggered by Trump's lining his own pockets.
The fact remains an empire like America thrives in open markets because of technological edge it sways over competitors. If now US is apprehensive of foreign competition then you need no economist to tell you America is in decline as the leader of the western world and no longer holds a superpower status but teeters unto a banana republic it once abhors.............

like the defunct eac, we never seem glad or willing to liberate ourselves from the snares of blaming Kenya as a source of friction but in any federation there are winners and losers too so why screeching eac because of it?

Southern states in US like Louisiana or Mississippi never questioned the validity of USA federation despite their economic backwardness so we may a need more than a rethink to put eac in front seat away from a back-burner where it is now...........
