Policy achievements is an exclusive playground of consensus builders who are passionate and skilled in policy analysis and decision making, a trait which is increasingly rare

The hitherto regime is unlikely to craft policy signatures that will stand the test of time

For that feat is reserved for those who have moral integrity above reproach, policy enthusiasts and consensus builders

Ironically, in our post colonial rule only Edward Sokoine fitted this leadership bill

He was soft spoken

His voice could not picked next street

He was unfazed by statistics as some do but his sixth sense served him well

Though soft spoken but when he opened his mouth only wisdom hit our ears and our conscience convicted us

Sokoine's moral authority was sufficient to get the job done, and he rarely bothered to countercheck whether his precepts have adhered to the letter

When a leader issue instructions and still has to personally verify their efficacy then you know he must be morally decadent and as a result not capable of pricking our conscience with a sense of guiltiness in case we disobey the instructions

If a leader issues orders and are ignored it says more about his moral character than the behaviour of the wantaways.

It is unlikely in the foreseeable future we will produce more ethical leaders in the mould of Sokoine because material success is all what counts

A public resources looter is more lauded while a faithful public servant is scoffed and derided!

As the culture of get rich quick continue to dominate expect moral leaders to diminish

If you have noticed most leaders dotting all spheres of influence sprawling from politics to religion do loudly shout, and the decibels reveal plenty of their moral decay
