Fired yesterday

This news caught me napping and I am loss of words.

I never expected the regime can act this swiftly and correct a huge blunder of curbing freedoms of expression

But as a an addendum, while I salute the regime for this vital rollback but there is no need to advise the iconic rapper on what to write and rap.
This was a bit intrusive to his artistic vision and content.

Let him do whatever he feels his audience are asking for.

While we applaud the gesture we still to be mindful the police are not an independent institution of governance

The police are taking orders from the politicians and the current persecution may be instructed by the political establishment which in itself is a reason to be vigilant

The ban to transport unprocessed gold remains vibrant and unabated

There is a research report which indicated the government was advised to forget copper smelting factories because of economic considerations

From the two extracts of the report, I have drawn up the following conclusions

One, copper smelting not viable in the country because demand of 60,000 per annum fails to pass the commercial viability of 150,000 tons production annually

This is why no copper smelting factory has ever been constructed locally because there are no raw materials of sufficient magnitude to make that venture commercially viable

Since this is the scenario one needs to mull over an indefinite ban on ferrying overseas unprocessed gold

The ban is a white elephant because the stranded cargo cannot be processed locally

We have no capacity to do it so why deny ourselves even the little cash in a form of morsels the mining giants chose to pretend remitting to our national coffers

Current setup encourages corruption
