There is nothing in Article 71 to suggest either of Halima Mdee or Esther Bulaya contravened it nor were they charged under the said article

To suspend an Mp is tantamount to constructive temporary dismissal

There are no constitutional provisions to suspend an MP

It is ridiculous to consider non attendance to parliamentary proceedings can amount to punishment

It debases the parliamentary if it perceives attending parliamentary proceedings is a punishment by hindering the wrong doer

Financial sanctions make sense but obstruction to an MP from fulfilling constitutional mandate like acting in representative capacity

The National Election Commission is sleeping on job

There were legislative efforts promised by the outgoing Chairman Hon. Justice Damian Lubuva to severe ties with a notorious electoral agent one local government

We thought the appointment of Court of Appeal Judge Semistocles Kaijage chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) would quicken this internal reform

Unfortunately, our hopes were highly misplaced

It seems there will be no even an iota of internal reforms going into the next general election

NEC has no continuous plans to register new voters on daily basis

Sometimes I feel it makes more sense if RITA was also burdened with registration of voters

RITA is registering births and deaths while issues birth and death certificates on daily basis

With RITA database it will be easier to reconcile deaths and new births

NEC can be restricted to verification of voter register prepared by RITA

If what Tundu Lissu is claiming is the gospel truth then the President is a intentionally misleading us or he is being misled by his advisers including the Professor Mruma enquiry report.

Key issues include metal concentrates being held at Dar port have already been smelted with approximately 95% of gold taken.


The president claimed all gold was still in the containers!

The two claims are diametrically opposite and one is a liar and a compulsive one for that matter.
