Why Magufuli administration misses the point on Government splurge

Official graft is now synonymous with this government that flimsiest excuses can be brandished to evade responding to grave allegations of government bribing MPs to pass controversial bills.

If this is true then all pretences of this admin to fight graft is a daylight lie for it is perpetuating it!

If you still believe them then you are likely to believe anything

A quick review of presidential assessment of a year in power

The guy deserves a pat on the wrist for candor

But his vision for this country is dangerous

Reminds me of Gen. Pinochet of Chile.

The general had good intentions too

He envisioned his country economically developed after painfully sacrifices on the rule of law: a bedrock of righteousness

Chile made economic strides but without justice its prosperity waned

With power ebbing away from his clutches the general hatched laws to protect himself against future prosecutions

The amnesty laws were later repealed for condoning human and civil rights violations

Somewhere in London where he was running away from Chilean health services he helped to destroy, the general became a fugitive after being slapped with lawsuits

He quickly sank and braced himself in a wheelchair feigning an imaginary illness

With his presidential immunity yanked away he resorted to sickness and dotage to keep the arm of the law away from exacting justice in a form of revenge.

Chile never became a tiger economy despite wanton human and civil rights abuses.

Low marks on the rule of law cannot be corrected by good intentions on economic development

So my assessment of first year in power is not rosy at all but thorny one.

We have been promised no consensus in constitutional reforms which in itself is polarising
