Why Magufuli administration misses the point on Government splurge

Some say UK did not offer money but promised to rehabilitate some infrastructure facilities that were seriuosly hit and affected by the earthquake. In that case when the gvt announces the amount collected it only does so by accounting for cash that it was given and not converting rehabilitation pledges into monetary form. How do you respond to that?

Appointments should be questioned on their integrity but not on tribal grounds like religious favouritism.

Generalizations only excel in confirming the appointments were meritorious ones.

Claiming your religious tribe is forgotten without berating the quality of the appointees and the irregularities of the appointing process do the opposite: shows you are tribal chief and has no national unifying agenda.

How sad!

I wish you are telling the truth but you are not.

UK was clear it gave money to ameliorate the plight of the victims not the government, and even if you overlook them the contributions are well above the announced one of +5 bill.

The Saudis and other middle east nations have chipped in where did it go? Someone is not telling the whole story.

For me the real policy issue is when the government is forcing to collect all contributions and define a narrow agenda to suit its parochial wants leaving the real victims to fend for themselves.

The government has a budget for calamities and should not have touched a single cent given by these generous contributors.

The alternative could have been to create two funds one for the victims and the other for this very avaricious government.

First, the electoral college requirement ought to ensure whoever is the Zanzibar president wins at least twenty percent of votes in both Pemba and Unguja.

Moreover, the composition of all government appointments should reflect a share of voting patterns destroying all forms of misrepresentation of Pemba in Zanzibar regardless which party wins a general election.
