On surface they look we need them in their current setup

Political parties have become no more our liberator buy our imprisonment

We boast of multiparty democracy

But multiparty isn't about the people but those individuals entrusted to run those political parties

So a superficial multiparty democracy becomes party leaders' democracy

It's not an arrangement that augurs well with producing good leaders which is a staple of our development malaise

After expanding citizens rights to all members of EAC the second step is to demystify multiparty democracy

We need to reject multiparty democracy and embrace peoples democracy

We need to free ourselves from the colonial bondage of multiparty democracy

We say so because multiparty democracy has entrapped us to worship party leaders of whom if you brush their shoulders the wrong way they ostracize you unto a blackballed entity
