Why Opposition Must win

Let me try and bring to light a few issues of economics and funding. First, the sgr money 90% was a loan from China. Sgr is considered viable and can repay the loan.
Kenya could not divert the cash to any other use. It was from exim to the Chinese contractor. Most loans are for development and in fact, China did Kenya a great favour.
Secondly, Kenya has had very small success in extractive industry. With the oil we could see better housing, water provision and even better food security.
Guys need to ask, how much donor funding comes to Kenya and where it goes. What impact has it had over the years. I respect and appreciate the contribution of China on our dvpt. Roads, railway, airports and sea port. Most of European donations goes to buying of 4*4 vehicles for the top executives.
One thing we must appreciate is that this country is headed to greatness.
With better infrastructure, we should see increased economic activities; manufacturing, agric, logistics etc. However, as we all know; Kenyan media is good at focussing us on the few challenges that we have. Tribalism, insecurity, hunger etc. Somehow making us believe that things are not going right.

Curious - what is the energy consumption of desalination plant.

I have to say I'm proud of the flow of discussions on this particular thread. I may not agree with all the arguments and views, but i respect the sane mannerism applied.

This is how we should conduct political engagements. Not hurling words and insults in each other's direction.

Yes the country is headed to greatness

Here is how Daily Nation Monday news paper September in 2035 will look like

This will be Your kid

Greatness indeed [emoji23]

Electricity is minimal

It requires alot of Chemicals though

There are some sought if Organic Membranes That are attached and absorb the unwanted minerals and require acid to wash them off and Basic solution to balance their state ....lemmi check electriciy consumption

Am sure its not that much

The installed generating capacity of ISRAEL was about 16.25 GW (16250MW) in the same year, almost all from hydrocarbon fuel plants, mostly coa

Kenya Currently produces 3000mw or 3GW and Jubilee has upto 5000mw under construction according to KENGEN site That by 2019 Kenya will be Producing 7GW

By 2030 34GW

South Africa Right now is at 46gw

So i dont think they consume much besides

365mw wind energy is coming up in Lake Turkana not that Far from Aquifers

I like a phrase Uhuru once said, when we do one project, it doesn't mean the others are to be forgotten. Lamu port is coming up well. The aquifers will be exploited in time. The war on terror will be won. Politicians will want to paint the other side as being very incompetent. That's normal.
But remember whether jubilee or cord wins, the Chinese loans will have to be paid. Jobs will have to be created and much more.

Am telling yall

This Chinese Debt will Haunt us

If its a country with minerals Fine and Good

Bit a country like Kenya???

No minerals No Resources???

Hehe

Lets wait and see

Well noted. We need to be cautious with those debts. Luckily its on sgr for now. I hope we can leverage on these debts to grow our economy. There's nothing as bad as paying for a debt when you have nothing to show for it. The sgr debt in my opinion was well spent. Thika rd debt also well spent and so are the debts on so many other infrastructure projects.
We will not be able to develop at the right pace without these projects. Look at how the bypass roads have expanded our metropolis.
The dongo kundu at the coast will be a game changer further expanding mombasa towards kwale. I am positive and very optimistic that better days are ahead of us. For our kids in particular. But we seriously need to invest in our software as a people. More cohesion, more harmony and the sky is the limit.
