Recently many people in the world have been inspired to name their children after famous (some not so famous) places. Would you consider naming your children after a country, city, town, district or a village??

Out there in the world, I like the name Paris for a girl and London for a boy. In Africa, I think Liberia would be an excellent name for a girl while Ghana would be excellent for a boy.

In Tanzania, I like the name Tabora for a girl while Kigoma would make a good name for a boy. However most of the places in Tanzania qualifies better for naming girls, check it out: Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Dodoma, Morogoro, Kahama, Shinyanga, Tabora, Pemba, Unguja, Sumbawanga, Rukwa, Kasulu, Songea, Ruvuma, Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Musoma, Mara, Iringa, Singida, Njombe, Bukoba, Kagera, Kibaha, Pwani, Mtwara, Mpanda, Katavi, Tunduma, Mbeya, Makambako, Njombe, Babati, Manyara, Handeni, Tanga, Lindi, Mafinga or Arusha.

What names would you like for your kids?

I’ve met a few people in the United States, all African-Americans who are either named Tanzania or Tanganyika.

I’ve met a lot who are named Kenya and Kenyatta.

I have heard some celebrities named after Brooklyn, Dacota, Paris and America. I also have heard Kenyatta, but Tanganyika or Tanzania that's new. Is Tanganyika or Tanzania a name for baby boy or baby girl?

I wouldnt consider...dunno the reasons....

My father's friend is called Tanganyika.

Tanganyika must be a popular name, you are a second person I have heard this from
Come one how about biggest cities out there in the world?

Are you not tempted by the names: Victoria, Chelsea, Jordan, Sydney, Berlin, Vegas, Asia, Georgia, Sierra, Miami, Vienna, Eden?

Nairobi for a girl

If you are naming a kid after Nairobi in Money Heist actress, man you must like her so much.

But if you havent seen Money Heist, you should go see the series and watch Nairobi doing her thing...

I like the Name Nairobi for a girl, it sounds good. How about Dar es Salaam?

Why not???
Basi ungependelea jina lipi kwa wanao, huwezi jua labda lina maana ya eneo pia

Some names are named after places just people dont know. For example Austin, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Regina etc

Hell yes

or you meant you will name your kid Hell, coz that is a dark place far from heaven.

You aren't tempted by any city name? What names you you prefer? From Bible or Koran?
Hell no ni slang yaani
I prefer Bible names or any other baby names with good meaning .
I just don't like the fact naming a child over a place

Do you also realize that names of places are derived from names of persons?

Charlotte, North Carolina is named after Princess Charlotte.
