Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians for Undergraduate and Doctorate degree scholarships tenable in The Russian Federation for the year 2013/2014. The medium of instruction is Russia
1. FIELDS OF STUDY

14.01.01 OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY
2. QUALIFICATIONS
UNDERGRADUATES
Applicants must:
have completed and passed Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education at a date not exceeding 3 years by September 2013.
have obtained passes not below C grade in the relevant subjects and no F mark in any subject of Advanced Secondary Education Examination or Secondary Education Examination.
not be admitted in Higher learning institutions
not be older than 25 years of age by September 2013
have good health
DOCTORATE
Applicants must:
have Master degree with an average of grade B
have completed present degree between 2010 and 2013
not be older than 35 years of age by September 2013
attach list of publications and a 2 page synopsis on the subject of research with translation into Russian.
be in good health
3. SELECTED CANDIDATES
(i) Selected candidates will have to:
purchase own tickets to Russia (average cost of USD 1,000.00 - one way) and an inland travel tickets (average cost of USD 250.00) from Moscow to the place of study.
purchase warm clothing and footwear ideal for winter season
purchase own air tickets to Tanzania when circumstances necessitate coming back home before completion of studies.
cover all general expenses each month (USD 450.00) for the whole period of study.
pay for Health Insurance ( about USD 250.00 per year)
learn the language of instruction before entering into the specialty.
(ii) LOAN: Needy selected candidates may apply for a loan from the Higher Education Students Loans Board to cover items mentioned above.
(iii) The Government of Russia will provide selected candidates with:
Monthly allowance of 38 USD (undergraduate) and 50 USD (Doctorate degree)
Hostel accommodation according to the price fixed for Russian students.
Medical care in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation.
4. MODE OF APPLICATION
All applicants must attach photocopies of Academic Certificates,Transcripts, and birth certificates (Result Slips or Statement of results are strictly not accepted).
Doctorate degree applicants must attach a letter from Higher Education Students Loans Board (HESLB) certifying that they are paying or have paid undergraduate students loans
Applications from Zanzibar should be channeled through the Higher Education Unit, in the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Zanzibar
