African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

I ordered a Satlink 1908 meter via aliexpress.com but its taking ages to get to kenya. Those guys must be using a ship to get it here, its taken close to a month and cost an equivalent of about 9k.

What shipment mode did you choose? Mine arrived in 4days.

How did you send the cash? Wanted the 6922 but was told i cant send US$ to singapore

By all means, resist the temptation to send money directly to the vendor, send to the a/c given by aliexpress coz of the escrow arrangement. And yes, the a/c they gave me too was in Singapore but shipment originated from Hong Kong, came via DHL. I paid using western union.

Good morning Ruffcast,
Remeber you have to complete your order after you have received in good condition so if you have´t received your items or are not satisfied with the items you received within the given time, please contact the seller to resolve it or ask seller to extend your product receipt time.Otherwise the order will be considered complete.I have also ordered mine ws6906.

I cant remember seeing an option of choosing, but after complaining I have been given a tracking number.. apparently it was sent using China Mail, which is notoriously slow...

I decided to go for the Cheaper ws-6908 DVB-S model as opposed to the DVB-S2 capable model as most satellites have at least a channel or TP broadcasting on DVB-S, so the trick fine-tuning an maximizing on the TP that has the DVB-S, thereafter connecting the cable to decoder

@banysat exactly!...I am yet to officially confirm receipt. I have even been sent a confirmation link.
they say if I don't get it by end of August I should lodge a complaint.

Hi,
The last time i ordered a scaler ring my seller tryed to send thru CN post and said it was returned and send it by Hongkong post and took less than two weeks for it to arrive. So i'm hopping that my ws6906 takes the same time.

Just dusted up my old DSTV decoder and got nothing, channels are still showing e-16, But I am reliably informed that your account has to be active to get the channels. So even with a basic Access account you can watch the premium channels.

Will see if I can MPESA multichoice 850/= to activate a basic account to enjoy those services for the weekend

From the little I know, china mail takes anywhere from 4-6weeks.

The Tanzanian tp on 36°e continues to amaze me. MBC Rodriguez has joined the bouquet of channels. i think its going to be $$$$ very soon.

That decoder is not compatible with cccam. Its vsr 9000hd which is ideal for CS.

Nice Weekend.

SRT 4922 S/W: 1.05 (JUL 10 2013)
This firmware has solved the problem of freezing but the patch not yet out.

The attached Satellite Live Coverage NTV Van was "caught in the act" earlier today by an FTA – satellite enthusiast. The Van was beaming "Live", the proceedings of KEMU University graduation ceremony at Meru County. Notice the type of "modified Cassegrain" off-set antenna they are using over there. It is actually a "Swe-Dish DA150K Drive-away Antenna". It can be dismantled to around 3 to 6 pieces.

http://www.bizsat.jp/ENPDF/SWE-DISH FA150K Two-In-One concept 2006.pdf

On seeing the NTV-OB team in action, ‘mantling' and ‘dismantling' the equipment, suddenly ASAS took control of the FTA camera-man! Totally captivated by the ‘OB-action', he quit attending the graduation ceremony activities and concentrated on watching the ‘Men-at-Work" ...... silently wishing he was the one setting up those equipments!

The NTV guy standing next to the van with hands in his pockets (it was freezing cold) looked fixedly at the FTA ‘hobbyist' as if to say, … "hey you paparazzi (unauthorized cameraman?), hit the road … what do you know about satellite reception and transmission equipment? … this is rocket science man!"

After a long time of adventuring around the OB crew, a relative called, "FTA-Nash, where are you, the graduation ceremony is over"! Now that's ASAS, ……. can make you to act unconventionally sometimes.
