Message was quite easily understood I am sure.
English is not our mother tongue, so it is acceptable to murder the Queen's language sometimes.

This is not an English Language forum but I must not leave my brothers in a certain pond.

"It’s a shame", is an idiomatic phrase used when you wish a situation was different. If Mgjd lived near Kampala, I would have given him the cable. It's a shame (regrettable) he doesn't & he missed that opportunity/chance. In such situations, it definitely doesn't mean "a condition of humiliating disgrace or disrepute" by "shame". But for some people who "murder the queens language", it still sounds rude and offensive. It's a shame it may still not make sense for them.
