Good Morning,

From the specs of STAR TRACK 2014 HD SE GPRS, it cant handle DVB-S/S2 Transponders receiving CCM, VCM, ACM, and Multi input Stream.

The Kenya Signet mux Channels on Intelsat 22 are under Multi Stream 1 & 2.

I am using a Satellite usb tuner card called TBS 5925 to access the Kenyan signet channels on Intelsat 22.

TBS5925 USB DVB-S2 Professional external TV Tuner box, a device that any personal enthusiasts or engineers in digital satellite TV industry dream to have.

The applying of an unique DVB-S2 demodulator chipset makes it possible to receive special streams broadcasted with ACM, VCM, Multi Input Stream(MIS), 16APSK, 32APSK, which most satellite receiving devices can’t support.

The built in hardware blind scan feature allows scanning of unknown satellite transponder with symbol rate as low as 200ksps, while most satellite receiving device can receive no less than 1Msps symbol rate.

With use of dedicated TBS tools or Crazyscan, EBS Pro those special streams can be captured.
Both Windows BDA driver and Linux driver up to the latest kernel 3.X are provided.


TBS5925 is the USB version of its’ equivalent device: TBS6925 PCIe DVB-S2 Professional TV Tuner card

TBS 5925 is connect to your pc or laptop via usb port and you need a couple of different software's to run the device.

yes it is possible but better to use MPEG4 reciever to get more than 100 channels.

Congrats Ruffcast for your innovation.it is equally possible to add 22W and astra2f 28.2E,which can also be nabbed on the West. I will post that pic soon.

Finally got my Humax IR3000HD just need to set it up now. Seems like it needs Nilesat 7E, Badr 26E, Hot Bird 13E and Yahsat 52.5E as those are the ones it searches for when you start it up. Unfortunately it gets none currently. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult is it to nab the above birds? When I do a manual search I manage to get Nilesat 7W and Sirius 5E.

Certainly....you need to nab the ADTV package and MBC!
The easiest is Yahsat bt it dsnt have ADTV followed by Nilesat 201....however for Hotbird 13E is alil bit optimistic coz you will need a 300cm plus solid dish to nail it!hope it helps!

Hi Kaminja, can you really get Badr 5 at 26E on a 90cm dish in Nairobi? - I checked the footprint, it must be a pretty faint signal by the time it gets to Nairobi, stronger in Northern Turkana.

You are right!Badr can be got with a 2.4M offset as the one Kung'u is using!with 90cm you can nail Nilesat and Yahsat western beam!

I think I will invest in a 2.4m dish and scare the neighbours. I have two 90cm dishes so I think its just a matter of fiddling with them for Nilesat and Yahsat. Northumberland, are you able to access the Humax portal from your machine. Mine seems not to be working
