I think I will invest in a 2.4m dish and scare the neighbours. I have two 90cm dishes so I think its just a matter of fiddling with them for Nilesat and Yahsat. Northumberland, are you able to access the Humax portal from your machine. Mine seems not to be working

Hi, Not exactly sure what you mean by the Humax portal? - if you mean can I access internet? then answer is no, dont think my Humax has that function.

There is a TV portal , kinda like google play for Humax, https://www.myhumax.net/ where you can download apps and other items like twitter. From the website seems like your IR3025 should work too with the same. Are you also able to read an external hard disk with the decoder

Thanks, I will check that site out and get back to you. I have not yet succeeded in reading an external hard disk, it seems like the hardware has been implemented on my decoder (there is a USB interface), but the software - for the ADS branded set, has had that functionality stopped, again, I will check it out in more detail.

Download to your computer then unzip it using winzip by right clicking on the zipped folder and select extract all (if you have winzip already download with it then it finishes and winzip program opens click on extract and select to usb). Place the usb on your receiver usb port, go to external devices, select file manager, select on the folder containing the patch and you are good to go

For Intelsat 22 you would require a 2.4 meter prime focus dish to lock all the frequencies under DVB-S2 modulation 8psk, 16psk and 32psk.

I tried tracking the bird with a 1.8 meter prime focus but only managed to getg 5 tp's shown below>>>

As per RF scan most of the active tp's are concentrated between 3700 - 4000 Mzh>>>>

The frequency coding of the transponders are either in Adaptive Coding & Modulation (ACM)) or Constant Coding and
Modulation (CCM).

Very few satellite receivers in the market have this type of coding specs on board plus 16/32psk modulation so most likly your receiver will not lock on the said frequencies.


Please note the Kenyan Signet package on intelsat 22 frequency 3732 L DVB-S2 8PSK SR 30000 is ACM coding under Multistrem.

Finally got my Humax IR3000HD just need to set it up now. Seems like it needs Nilesat 7E, Badr 26E, Hot Bird 13E and Yahsat 52.5E as those are the ones it searches for when you start it up. Unfortunately it gets none currently. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult is it to nab the above birds? When I do a manual search I manage to get Nilesat 7W and Sirius 5E.

I have not yet managed to setup the Humax am still using my old Astrovox. I was thinking maybe it had to connect to the four preprogrammed satellites for it to become fully activated. Currently even network functions are not working. Do you have any experience with the Humax decoders?

Good Evening Kaminja,

I am using Humax 2020 hd which also has the Humax portal

The interface is most likely the same.

To set up the receiver, first select installation tab on your menu via remote>>>

Select the satellite table you want to set>>>

On the satellite setting tab select the name of the satellite you want to set.

Select the DiSEqC port if using switch.
If not set DiSEqC at port 1

Use Test Transponder tab to select the transponder you want to test satellite signal on.

You can install the frequency of your like via User Define tab

Check polarity depending on LNB installation.

Before scanning the frequencies on a desired satellite, set the other satellite table ( Badr, Hotbird etc) as Transponder None>>>

Now you can search Nilesat table to see what frequnies come uo.


To access the Humax Portal you need to connect your receiver to the internet via Ethernet port or Wifi.

I access my Internet i use Ethernet cable connected to receiver.

I use a Portable 3G wireless N Router called TP LInk Mr 3020[h=1][/h]

Once connected to receiver, select System tab>>>

Internet settings>>>

Configure LAN>>>>

Configure IP>>>

Apply and select DHCP to automatically set router link address>>>

Once completed, you should be able to access the Humax portal>>>
