For a long time he’s been busy running his Twitter fingers throwing shade at his party chairman, who also happens to be the the president of the URT.
I don’t recall him calling him out by his name or anything like that, however, unless one is Boo Boo The Fool, it wasn’t that hard to figure out who that shade was being thrown at.
He talked plenty on Twitter. In the process, he garnered some followers.
Finally, last week, shit hit the fan and he got drummed out of the party he’s been a member of since his youth.
He claims the reason for his expulsion is because he wanted to mount an intramural challenge to President Magufuli CCM’s. nomination to be its standard bearer in the upcoming general in October.
That is bull.shit. and he knows it.
It is CCM’s tradition to let the incumbent president seek a second term.
They’ve done so with Benjamin Mkapa. They did it with Jakaya Kikwete.
But now with JPM, he [Membe] wanted to buck that tradition. He wanted to run for president.
He knew damn well what he was doing. He didn’t have those designs for the nomination because he felt or thought he could actually win.
He just wanted to sow seeds of discord so he can add to the sabotage against President Magufuli. He’s been clout chasing Magufuli from the jump.
He didn’t run against Mkapa in 2000! He didn’t run against Kikwete in 2010! Both of those times hee toed the party line.
So why now against Magufuli?
The guy is grotesquely overrated. I think he overrates himself. I also think his supporters also overrate him.
He got what was coming to him. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Now he is as free as a bird to go elsewhere and run against the man he has sabotaged from day one.
Let’s see how that works out.
He must have forgot that CCM is a brobdingnagian political force in Tanzania.
Unless he apologizes and shows the appropriate level of contrition in order to be brought back into the fold, he will soon be consigned to the trash can of irrelevancy.
