We, Tanzania included are subdcribed to the global citizenry, no third world country can dare raise her neck half high and say we can make it. Zimbabwe tried, a nobel feat with dire consequences.
We dont need there congratulations, we only need business with them. Dont forget Kenya is a net importer of its factory consumables, machinery and technological framework. The little we export are usually targetted to the western nation and they include floriculture, tea included among other animal produce.
GOD FORBID THIS NEVER HAPPENS: What if they advise their tourists from flying to Kenya? .....a three month campaign will be enough to cripple Kenyas economy, make KQ lose business .
As i said you are in Tanzania and all this math doesnt worry you one bit, a revolution at this point in time isnt a far fetched idea. We made an error we must constitutionally leave with, me the ordinary man not that elitist up there....

If the choice made by Kenyans has consequences. Dear folks over there, would you please let me know, why our father/grands fought for Independence? if any, choosing Uhuru and fighting for independence which one had consequences ? What a bullying, lol. We foolish africans who has bewitched us?

Unfortunately this aint colonialism but a minimum threshold any leadership should have.
The moment Uk was indicted, falsely or true; it was in bad faith for him to run again.
This colonial masters u are up against are wat prevented Kenya from going up in smokes....(ashamed of this fact)
A pat in the back should show us that we africans have a long way to go.....a long long way.

My friend most countries look at national interests especially Western countries. If they have interests in Kenya they will continue to interact. That is why countries like America preach "democracy" while still supporting some dictators. All the talk of not interacting with Kenya was just campaign talks. If they have interests in Kenya they will find a way to coexist with Kenyatta.

Bwana Falsafa, good to hear but as much as i get some sense thin veiled encouragement from this, you and me know that it will not be business as usual.
I belive you are privy to this statement, we will only make essential contact.
That is a very revealing statement, makes me wonder wat Kenyans did so wrong on electing an indictee......okay, he is our future leader and i accord him respect but he'd rather insulate Kenya from the turbulent rocking the boat in the near future.

US President Barack Obama on Saturday
said Kenya was a dangerous destination
for international reporters.
In a speech in Washington to US
journalists and political leaders, Mr
Obama said in regard to foreign
correspondents.
"They've risked everything to bring us
stories from places like Syria and Kenya,
stories that need to be told," he said.
Mr Obama did not explain why he coupled
Kenya with Syria, a country devastated by
a civil war that has killed some 70,000
people.
His remark was part of his speech at a
dinner sponsored by the Gridiron Club
and Foundation.
The annual event serves as an occasion
for a US president to make humorous
comments about politics and the media.
Mr Obama followed that tradition on
Saturday night, but toward the end of his
speech, he told the audience, "Now, I do
want to end on a serious note."
He then prefaced his comment about
Kenya and Syria by saying to the
journalists in attendance, "the truth is our
country needs you and our democracy
needs you."

For Syria it would have been easy because they were carefully isolated. For kenya it is difficult because the international media has failed in their despondency for kenya, their intended pace failed to gather momentum.

Mkuu all this is because of an over reliance on the West. That bolded statement of yours comes from the UK, am I right? If it were say Nigeria or Malaysia making that statement would you still have the same fears? It is the fault of our governments for signing on to this ICC charter. You will never hear of a former US president or UK prime minister being taken there.

Hahaha...is that some guarded optimism bro? These challenges from this point onwards wont hit him, it will hit me most....

All nations you have listed above, Sudan, Libya et al are in deep shit as we speak. poor quality life, low wages, limited exposure to outside world etc....some kingpins house of sorts where survival is for the elite few.
I give him 3 months to wither the storm bro.

lol

some of the challenges you have spoken were a reality even where as a nation we had some peace of mind from the neo-colonialist, and during that time we have just made baby steps towards Vision 2030. We have not as a country attained full first-world status to be disturbed by a systmatic way of deprivation from it by neo-colonialist. it is only britian came in to say there was oil or else, it would have been back to 64-69 period. As we speak bro can you confirm whether we have this black gold

This statement was made by Britain and closely adopted by the EU in unison. Ofcourse if Nigeria said this ad have lost no sleep. We have non existent bsns with them; but not our chief tourists source. Our chief defence insuarance and source of armour.
I am with whatever leadership that carries the day, if Kenya pulls out of ICC as already being mulled about, sanctions wont be an office threat statement anymore but an open declaration by the west. As i said we better brace up for tough times, i dont expect to see UK anywhere near Hague.....not my president but that has consequences too.
The moment we became members of the UN and a signitory to the ICC charter our fate was cleverly sealed....time we pull back and watch the catastrophic machinations of the western bullism on an african nation.

lol

I simply hope for the best bro.
As partains to the black gold we sure do have it, some time in January tullow was actively advertising for either Uk based or Ireland fully sponsored masters courses by them targetting Kenyan students. (all via the british high commission). They were all to do with oil, procurement, engineering, csr et al.....a swam of courses was offered
There was a second clause of somewhat that said, "if you are a turkana and live around turkana then you have an added advantage"lol....def i have casually paraphrased it but it did mull sth of the sort.
There tag line was bringing jobs back to the natives.
I bet that is enough to tell of the viability of both the ngamia and twiga wells.

The US Secretary of State managed to congratulate the country on its peaceful elections without tipping his hat to Kenyatta, who won over half the country's vote. John Kerry commended Kenya on their elections Saturday, without specifically mentioning president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

"We stand with you at this historic moment and will continue to be a strong friend and ally of the Kenyan people,"Kerry said in a statement which congratulated "all those elected to office," Reuters reported.

The United States has made it clear that they do not support Kenyatta, who facescharges of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court for his role in post-2007 election violence, the Africa Review reported.

Obama's administration has also said Kenya would face unspecified "consequences" if it elected a certain leader, widely understood to be Kenyatta, according to the Associated Press.

Kenyatta's opponent Raila Odinga has vowed to contest what he called the "massive tampering" of the votes, but vowed to do so in the courts and not the streets of Nairobi, Agence France-Presse reported.

"By Saturday the tension had all but dissipated, replaced be resignation and despondency among Raila's supporters, and joyful celebrations among Kenyatta's," GlobalPost correspondent Tristan McConnell reported. "Yet on both sides of the wide political divide, the desire for peace and for life to get back to normal was strong."

-China earlier today sent its congratulations to President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta for winning last Monday’s Presidential election.

A statement from Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying read;

“China congratulates Mr Kenyatta on being elected President of Kenya,” it read in part. Adding;

“We also congratulate Kenya on holding the election peacefully and successfully.”
Hua added that China hopes to strengthen ties with Kenya’s ‘new government’;

“We would like to strengthen cooperation with the new government of Kenya and bring bilateral friendly relations to a higher level.”

“China attaches great importance to its relations with Kenya and regards Kenya as an important cooperation partner in Africa,” she added.

Uhuru made history on Saturday by becoming the first person facing charges of crimes against humanity to ever win a Presidential election. His victory is being challenged in the Supreme Court by his main rival in the election, CORD’s Raila Odinga.

Uhuru’s win has worried some Kenyans who fear that the country could go through the kind of diplomatic and economic isolation that has turned countries like Zimbabwe and North Korea into pariah states.
