Generator expenses such as fuel and repairs and maintanance are supposed to be debited into generator expenses account and credited to cash/supplier account.

Well Said Fukara. Generator expenses means expenses acquired on running it such as fuel, repair and so on. so you have to debit operaing expenses and credit cash whether it is paid by cash or/supplier account.

So you have Generator expenses account in your trial balance? what kind of operation are you accounting for?

I have come to find my question was open to so many answers. I actually want to know where you book the fuel and repair expenses?
 
It depend with the value of materiality concept and value of your Generator. Example in big firms generator of tsh 750,000 can be treated as operating expenses and in small business can be treated as an assets.
