A Mombasa court has issued an arrest warrant against Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for failing to show up in court in a suit against his advertising firm.

The suit was filed by Kitui Flour Mills over an alleged Sh1.31 million in unpaid claims against Golden Dreams advertising agency, owned by the governor.

The miller had earlier obtained an order requiring the Governor to appear in court on February 19, to explain why he could not pay the dues.
