Bypass or ring road, their purpose is the same. Redirect unnecessary traffic from inside the city centre.
It's just a matter of terminologies.

But yours is premature because there is very little traffic in Dodoma in the first place.

LOL! Look who the idiot is ,construction started in January of the Nairobi-Mau summit road 2022 is expected date of completion(Do not talk without thinking, do some research). As for Nairobi bypasses sum up these numbers.

a) Nairobi northern bypass 21 km (Completed 2014)
b) Nairobi eastern bypass 32 km (Completed 2010)
c) Nairobi southern bypass 29.8 km (Completed 2016)
d) Nairobi western bypass 16.79 km (80% complete with 25 km of service roads and 8 interchanges)

Dude you are competing with Meru town which is doing bypasses now,already we have those in Mombasa, eldoret,Kisumu, Nakuru will be completed with the under construction Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau summit road.

Get your facts right before opening your mouth, stop being lazy.

Kenya has mooted a plan to roll out Sh1.14 trillion worth of projects under public-private partnership (PPP) model by end of the fiscal year 2020/21, as the country looks to wean itself off an addiction to growth fuelled by an expanding public debt bubble.

According to the National Treasury, a total of 80 projects have been listed in the national priority list of PPP projects, with plans underway to roll them out by June next year.

“The projects are in various sectors i.e. transport and infrastructure, energy, health, education, water and environment, housing, tourism, manufacturing, agriculture and livestock,” Treasury Secretary Ukur Yatani says in the 2020 Budget Policy Statement.

The projects listed for roll out under the PPP model include the much talked about Nairobi Expressway – the country’s first double decker road, Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit Highway, the second Nyali Bridge, and Lamu-Garissa-Isiolo highway, among others.
