Atheism and other religions should be treated equally in Tanzania!

"the world would be boring place if all we were the same"

so respect opinions of others if you want yours to be respected also!

The point is in state/public events there should be no religion involved as the constitution does not acknowledge religion.

Mate, you are confusing issues here sir!

The government is not operating under certain religion beliefs or any member of the government and or civilians are not coerced to believe in any religion.....

That is a must like
1.UK - Christian specifically Agrican

2.UAE- ISLAM

Tanzania uwe una abudu mgomba, Mungu, miungu, hauna dini, as long as hauvunji sheria za nchi na wewe ni raia mwema then go ahead!

Hizi mambo za dini kwanza kuna watu wanazi confuse saana na wala si mada nzuri kuzileta katika jamii..

Coz kuna watu tu, I am pretty sure wao ni shida by default. .

Personally my perceptions in religions matters is quiet amusing...

I consider religions as human traditions/culture or taboos...

God is one! Wapo watu wanatumia dini ku fool around. ... kuna ma radicals wapo chini ya miamvuli ya dini...

Kuna wahuni wapo chini ya miamvuli ya dini...

Roma ilipata scandal ya fraud za mapesa kibao.....

Imagine hata Roma?

Baana tu quit hii kitu!

Binadamu is far extreme...
And binadamu anaeza kuishi beyond his limits we acha baana.....

Emotional Intelligence rules mankind affair. .. know thyself

Why are you defending atheism? What is the difference btn Atheism and Paganism ideologicaly??

Umeelewa vibaya ndugu!!

Our country has no religion!! We should be faithful to our documents.

The country is secular BUT not the people. Politicians need to show respect to the faiths of her citizens. Placating to the faithful is good politics.

Which faith?yet our country is a secular country. We don't have a state religion

Government ought to be neutral on this issue.

Atheism is the cult which begins in the year 2007 it can't regarded as a religion as it contains secret ritual and ridiculous doctoring to mock and ridicule other religions which started in first century.

Our constitution is very clear not me!!
So,if you have taken for granted those words, that is up to you

Which faith?yet our country is a secular country. We don't have a state religion

I didn't say FAITH, I said FAITHS. There are many and we need to recognize all of them. It will be a sad country if we ignore our religions, cultures, faiths simply because the constitutional makeup of the country is secular.

We do this all the time. For example, invoking cultural recognitions such installing a leader as a chief of say, waHehe, with all traditional attires.

Our country has no religion!! We should be faithful to our documents.

The country is made up of people. These people have faiths (multiple), cultures, customs, that make them who they are. We need to honor these facets of our being even if our government system is secular.

In a public meeting when we:
  • observe a moment of silence for a departed friend or leader,
  • stand and applaud our mothers for their care and contribution,
  • sing the national anthem (Mungu ibariki........)
we are honoring our cultural/spiritual heritage. We should not shy away from them.

Asking major religious groups to pray for our country does not go against our secular form of government. God knows we need prayers - given the state of our economy.

As long as the State does not favor a particular religion and give equitable time to all religions, I see this as a uniting act for our otherwise divided country. (Currently, there is a silent tug-of-war between Muslims and Christians)

I agree with you 100%. As long as the government does not favor a particular faith and the Constitution is not religious-based, I am happy.

Saying prayers in public gatherings is in recognition of the people in those meetings.

If the President went to address a meeting of Muslims (example the IDD Baraza), I would expect him to hear Islamic prayers only.

I the President is addressing a meeting of Christians (example, kusimikwa kwa Baba Askofu), I would expect him to hear Christian prayers only.

However, if the President is addressing a mixed gathering (Uhuru celebrations), I would expect him to give all faiths opportunity to pray for the nation. NOTHING WRONG HERE.

I thought it is conducted that way sir!
