Automotive Service Repair Centre Operations Manager and Senior Mechanics Jobs in Kenya

Our client, one of the leading automotive service and repair centre in Nairobi, who also operates a restaurant, is looking for qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Operations Manager and Senior Mechanics.


The portfolio includes car maintenance; spray painting, engine overhauls among many other automotive services.

1. Operations Manager

Reporting to the Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations and managing all the activities of both the automotive centre and the restaurant.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Managing both the Garage and Restaurant
• Improving the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission
• Overseeing overall financial management, planning, systems and controls
• Playing a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
• Keeping abreast with emerging technologies and trends in automotive field.
• Ensuring clear records for the business.
• Supervising of staff at the centre and the hotel
• Overseeing procurement process of spare parts

Candidate Profile:

• Relevant tertiary degree or diploma.
• At least 5-10 years’ experience within the automotive industry, 3 of which must be in management level.
• Candidate must be able to work effectively with minimum guidance/supervision.
• Experience in managing and producing reports.
• Committed , dedicated and self-driven
• THE CANDIDATES SHOULD BE NON SMOKERS.

2. Senior Mechanics

Based in Nairobi Kenya, The senior mechanic would be expected to diagnose and repair all types of vehicles in the Garage.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain all types of vehicles
• Tests vehicles after being repaired for the purpose of ensuring that vehicles are in safe operating condition.
• Keeping clear records of vehicles before, during and after repair.
• Responsible for the quality of work he performs.
• Promoting a safe working environment
• Any other duty allocated to him by his superiors

Required Knowledge

• Methods, materials, lubricants, tools, and equipment used in servicing, diagnosis, Preventive maintenance, overhaul and repair of vehicles and equipment.
• Principles of diagnosis and repair of diesel and petrol engines, electrical systems and chassis.
• Mechanical principles of braking, heating, air conditioning, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and transmissions

Candidate Profile:

• Committed , dedicated and self-driven
• Tertiary degree or diploma in mechanical field.
• At least 5 years’ experience within the automotive industry as a mechanic
• Experience With volks wagon will be an added advantage
