Bakhresa Group gets ISO certification for Azam brands
FOUR mills that manufacture various Azam brand wheat flours have received International Standard Certificates to enter the official global quality recognition.

The four mills which are part of Bakhresa Group of companies received the ISO certification after complying with international criteria which governs production of food products at an assured quality and safety but also safeguarding occupational safety and health of its staffs and other stakeholders involved in operations.

The awarded certificates include; ISO 9001: 2015 –Quality Management System, ISO 22000: 2018-Food Safety Management System, ISO 18001: 2007 Occupation Safety and Health Management System and ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System.

Managing Director of ACM Limited from the US, Andrew Rowe said the ISO system compliance certification, recognizes and emphasizes on compliance to the local existing authorities as interested parties.

“In Tanzania these includes Tanzania Bureau of Standards, Tanzania Food and Drug Authority, Occupation Safety and Health Authority, National Environment Management Council and other regulatory authorities to which the company is required to comply,” Rowe said.

He congratulated the group for the achievement and urged the company to maintain the achievement and gear for continuous improvement.

Speaking at the event, Bakhresa Group Corporate Affairs Director, Hussein Sufian appreciated ISO for always providing clear and systematic guidance that continuously enables the company to meet its customers and other stakeholders’ requirements.

“We are delighted to receive these international awards for our flour mills in Buguruni, Mzizima and Kipawa, this achievement is a demonstration of our commitment towards realization of the highest standards in quality, food safety, occupational safety and health as well as environmental management,” Sufian said.

He further explained that, ISO compliance has increased the capacity of the company to address systematically all issues related to compliance hence facilitate its mission to consistently serve Tanzanians with affordable high quality and safe products with minimum threat to staffs safety and environmental hazards.
