Duuh hii nimecheka sana.... Ati your beaches are more Dangerous than the Animals.....
Pickpocketing and con artists are everywhere, working crowded markets and bus stations.

Don't be fooled by the playfulness of small children, often they've been forced into a life of crime.

Also be aware near beaches – a favourite haunt of thieves who sometimes can be violent. Tanzania‘s coast is sometimes more dangerous than the animals.

Most robberies areas are ‘snatch and run‘. Thieves wait for the opportune time to grab something and then disappear into the crowd.

Never carry anything of value in your pockets and don't let expensive camera equipment dangle from your neck. Don't leave bags unattended. Bad news, those thieves at the beach have worked out your wallet is probably in your shoe!

The golden rule – it‘s only money! Don‘t try and be a hero in dangerous situations.

DARISLUM IS SUCH A DANGEROUS PLACE
There are many incidents of mugging and robberies happening on the daily basis, almost everywhere around the city. The latest trend is approaching unsuspecting walker from behind by either motor bike or taxi, grab any over the shoulder carrier (be it handbags for ladies, loose hanging backpack or laptop bags) and snatching that.

There has even been some deaths reported due to person being dragged and injured while their bags are snatched.

Apart from muggers, you also have to keep away from law enforcers themselves, and many have a habit of extorting money by either making false accusation of breaking some law or any other means.

The culture of taking a stroll is not there in Dar es Salaam, and there are no really walkways where you can safely walk.

Most of the pedestrian paths are filled up during the day by either shopkeepers keeping their wares out, or as boda boda stands (local motor bike taxis), or just chained to prevent others not access those for any reasons.

Even when driving around, the most sensible way to do it is have your windows rolled up, and doors locked! I have seen (witnessed) many times unlocked doors of cars being opened at traffic light junctions and things stolen from cars, phones snatched through open windows and so forth.

LOOK AT THIS. ARE YOU ONE OF THE ALBINO HUNTERS OR ONE OF THE MUGGERS?? WHICH ONE??
Dar is probably the most dangerous city on the east coast outside Mogadishu, and probably more so than Jo'burg too. We met people who'd been attacked with machetes in daylight, robbed in mini-vans, and countless people whose travelling partners were robbed. There was at least one murder of a tourist while we were in the region. Taxis taking people off down dead end streets to be robbed was a common denominator.
Day time, we walked around, thought it was an interesting, pleasant city.

Shame of Mombasa’s poor drainage as heavy rainfall submerges city in floods.

Mombasa residents woke up to raging floods on Tuesday morning, after hours of heavy down pour following months of heat, dust and scorching sunshine, floods that brought to the fore the perennial problem of poor drainage, which successive city administrations have failed to address.

Streets and neighborhoods were submerged in water, causing heavy traffic, with houses and businesses flooded in what is likely to amount to huge losses.

Health experts are also warning of a possible outbreak of water-borne diseases if it continues raining in the coming days.

In Kisauni, residents struggled to salvage their belongings after their houses got flooded, while food kiosk operators opted to go about the businesses right on the flooding water.

Public service vehicles took advantage of the rain and floods to overcharge passengers, desperate to get to work amid the cold and heavy downpour.

Locals accused the county government for failing to address the poor drainage in the city.

“We have floods every year, and the county is fully aware, yet they have chosen to ignore and concentrate on other less important projects. Who will compensate us for these losses?” Mariam Mwanaidi, a resident of Kisauni’s Mlaleo area, told Baraka FM, pointing at a mattress that was floating in her flooded single-roomed house.

“I hope my two-year old baby doesn’t get pneumonia from this cold,” she said.

The Mombasa county government has dealt with several road projects within the county, under funding from the World bank, and has handled some stretch of drainage in areas like Kisauni, but that seems to be inadequate as locals still suffer from floods when it rains.

Serious drainage problems are also evident within the central business district, with flooded streets notably the Jomo Kenyatta and Moi avenues, pointing towards a blocked drainage system that is yet to be dealt with.
