So who is this special 'individual' who is supposed to initiate constitution revision? No one is opposing bbi. What all agree that the constitution needs a revision but you can't as an individual determine for us what is suitable.
The people are sovereign and the president can't purport to use his state power to take that what is dear to us, VOTE
I agree devolution has to be strengthened. But you don't strengthen in one element only.Which political sentiments?
If BBI passes it becomes law which must be followed.
Those opposing BBI are the ones giving us political sentiments.
Kwani pesa mashinani itafika aje mashinani. Through promises?
Every county has its own economic activity.
The political sentiment 'Bottom up economy' can never be reality without more money to the grassroots which can only trickle down through devolution.
Devolution should be strengthened and BBI is offering exactly that.
The people have power that is why the court ruled the way it ruled. The politicians were trying to change the constitution to benefit themselves without involving Kenyans in the process and also without following the correct procedure.Did you ask yourself how much has the so-called BBI expended and squandered so far!??? If you could not prevent such a blatant dissipation in thje first place, then you know who has the real power: you (the people) or him (the president).
Even the president in his personal capacity can propose an amendment but the judgment has given the proposal and recommendations on what they failed to doSo who is this special 'individual' who is supposed to initiate constitution revision?
Because according to the constitution, amendments can be initiated by the people or Parliament
Are MP Junet Mohammed and Waweru Tanzanians because they initiated BBI
Not to mention a further appeal to the supreme court which will take more time.
Naona huelewi. Nobody is opposing more money to the counties. We all want more money to be devolved. The issue here is that the correct procedure was not followed. Sheria lazima ifuatwe jinsi inavyostahili. This constitutional amendment may have had good intentions but unfortunately it was rushed and did not follow the correct procedure.Which political sentiments?

In Kenya devolution is working. It also works very well in other countries like USA.The so-called devolution economics has been in place since time immemorial --- but has actually delivered nothing significant.

The president is a Kenyan. Meaning BBI is very legal. If that is so, the court ruling is inconsequential and will be thrown out soon.Even the president in his personal capacity can propose an amendment but the judgment has given the proposal and recommendations on what they failed to do

Which procedure did it not follow. It was initiated by Junet Mohammed who is an Mp and Waweru of Jubilee who is a citizen.Naona huelewi. Nobody is opposing more money to the counties. Even Maraga said Parliament should be disbanded and 2017 election was illegal etc etc.. but here we are.
A normal mwananchi should use popular initiative. The president should use parliament. That is what the courts said. Tatizo ni kwamba hujasikiliza hio judgement vizuri, umekuja tu kutoa maoni bila kusikiliza hio judgement. Sasa president ataanzisha aje popular initiative na yeye sio private citizen? Mimi I am currently listening to the judgement, I suggest you do the sameThe president is a Kenyan. Meaning BBI is very legal. All other processes have been followed. Tuache bias na kuegemea kisiasa.
Which one element is being strengthened?I agree devolution has to be strengthened. But you don't strengthen in one element only.
The current county government are getting more than what the constitution allows but due to corruption they can't show anything for it.
They also need to expand their tax bracket
90% of the issues proposed in the BBI don't need the constitution to be changed, they càn be changed through normal legislature. E.g this one about revenue sharing between national and county government was just added there to seduce governors and MCAs.Which political sentiments?
