Berth 2 and 3 of Lamu Port.

Sadly words are not actions, FYI what hindered Dar port from absorbing big load is already countered up and that's why you see expansions and renovations all over the port itself, railways, border points, ICDs, auxiliary ports like on the bordering lakes, etc

So far Dar port is recording great revamp and rocket flying shipping-lines callings, bigger docking schedule even before doubbling completion

About Tanga, it's the different case when you considering that there's no Uganda oil multi billion dollars business without Tanga port.

About Mtwara, you can't talk about the massive Dangote cement firm in the region without mentioning that port, plus some several 100k metric tonnes of cashews from Mtwara all together and many leaves Lamu in the laugh stock memes

The hard facts are, Mombasa have 19+ berths plus Lamu's 3 berths, Dar port wants to assure you that all that you have will be nothing compared to what Dar expecting to have in the next few days.

You have mentioned what Mombasa has, but you failed to do the same for Dar.... What will dar have in the next few days???

And BTW having berths is not the same thing as attracting/handling business...
Mombasa port handled 30 million toness last year while Dar port did 20m tonne.... Even if you double the capacity of dar today, you will still be few years behind achieving 30 million ...

Infact, your target when you launched dar port expansion was to handle 28 Million tonnes by 2020... This was your vision i.e best case scenario if everything goes well and according to schedule..... Mombasa port was already passed 30m last year, next year we will be somewhere around 35 Million..

So i don't know what you mean when you say Msa will be nothing compared to Dar... when the opposite is true... AND BTW, MSA port too is undergoing massive expansion.

Firstly you should draw a little cautious as you talk about this, just note 75% of the incoming consignments in Mombasa is domestic load destined within Kenya not in transit thus requires high concentration when analyzing economic peramiters,

Obviousness, economically it is not healthy for any focused nation in the world to do more importation than export of its products, FYI Kenya has recorded the largest imports of goods mergins through Mombasa which in economic weighing eyes this is not beneficial to the port as the state entity but is beneficial to overseas markets, which to me is nonsense to be proud of.

I am certainly in that 10 million excess there's big accumulation of food stuff inwhich you failed to produce domestically and that should not be something to cherish because it add nothing into your economy but takes profits from your ports thank you.

the completed berth 21 ndio hii hapa

Even if 75% of incoming goods are destinen for the domestic market, That 25% left is more than what Tz ports handle for transit markets!

And Tanzania import/export balanced is helped by raw mineral exports, Your industries don't produce much so there is nothing to be proud of, Infact if you were to do value addition for your minerals locally, your port will handles significantly less cargo.... 100 tonnes of sand/rocks with gold concentrate is like 5 kgs of pure gold. But since valu addition is not done in Tanzania all those tonnes have to be exported in raw form...

Its so easy to debate with you people because you like to create stories and theories without backing them with facts...

Food makes up only 5% of Kenya's imports... while machines&Electronics, Vehicles/Transportation and mineral/petroleum make up 46% of imports...Thats $7.8B in those three categories alone .. While Tanzania's total imports are $8.1 Billion

Kenya consumes 84,000 barrels of oil per day, wakati Tanzania consumes less than half of that at 35,000 bpd, Compare that!!! https://www.indexmundi.com/energy/?product=oil&graph=consumption&display=rank

tena hio berth 21 which is 360m long ni phase 1 ambayo ilishakamilika... Tayari tulishaanza phase 2 which will inlcude berth number 22, kila baada ya 18 months kutakua na new berth inaongezwa hadi 2032..... tena hapo kwa entry ya mombasa port unaona kutaongezwa General multipurporse berths L1-L4, Mbali na hapo Dongo Kundu free port nayo itakua na its own berts

Hahaha

Tanzania don't export 100 tonnes of sand/rocks with gold concentrate..... Excuse me

Tanzania majors in export of agriculture produces which leads in Africa and in the world and some of them are...

1 cottons
2 cashews
3 dry beans
4 sunflower seeds
5 coffee
6 tea
7 tobacco
8 maize
9 rice
10 sisal
11 banana
.....

All of the above crops Tanzania makes in the top 5 among the producers in Africa and some in the world. If you demand fact I will bring it

Almost half of all crops are shipped out using our ports but majority of the good millions of metric tonnes are passing out through our dry borders and bordering lakes surrounding the country.

Tatizo mna makelele sana na hicho kilamu chenye berths 3 ndio mnakiita largest port in Africa πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

Bring those facts here, usipige story tu.... Tena ulete hadi total exports $$$ Tuone kama kweli the reason you don't import much is because you produce locally

Mwaka jana Dar handled 500,000 TEUs, wakati Mombasa ilipiga 1.3M TEUs !!!

Feel free to visit this thread from 5th page then njoo hapa, sababu niliwashushia wenzako nondo mpaka wakakimbia

Mind you, bado crops nyingine ambazo Tanzania inaongoza kuzizalisha sijaziweka hapo so kama unataka useme nikusogezee

Pamoja na oil terminal that can handle 4 oil tankers at the same time.
