Nimekwambia basi ulete takwimu zinazoonyesha Exports zenu zote , na pia ukiweza ulete takwimu za imports zenu... Hapo ndo tutajua kweli kama mnajitosheleza au ni uwezo wa kununua ndo hamna.
Some of the berths are general cargo berths, some are for liquid bulk and some are container berths. Only the container berths are supposed to be long, the rest can be half the size... Kwahivyo just counting the number of berths does not equal, and/or is not directly proportional to capacity of a port in TEUs.Just put it this way.....
You do 1.1 million TEUs with 21 berths
We do 750k TEUs with 11 berths

Kwa mfano, The new modern berths 20 and 21 in Msa have a combined capacity of 550k TEUs!!! So the new two berths 20,21 in Mombasa are almost equivalent to all your 11 berths in dar combined !!!! How about that?

The programme, which was to be implemented in three phases, envisaged the construction of a Container Terminal on a total area of 100 hectares and capacity to handle 1.5 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) per annum on completion – making the overall port capacity to over 2.6 million TEUs.

Sote hatuzalishi mafuta ilhali sisi tuna import mara mbili yenu, Hii inamaanisha tuko na viwanda vingi kuwaliko, magari mengi kuwaliko ndio maana import yetu ni kubwa kuliko yenu.....
