Mkuu according ya data hapo juu ni kwamba
  • It typically takes three to six months for a snail egg to hatch and grow into a full-sized adult

Unless labda huyo adult anakuwa bado hana nyama za kutosha

[h=1]Crow Meat[/h]

Crow meat is not popular in many parts of the world as the bird's meat is considered unappetizing by many being dark with a dry texture. The little fat content in crow's meat is very low and it is prepared the same way as any other bird meat.

History of Crow Meat Consumption
The crow was considered to be an omen of bad luck or evil spirits and it was a taboo animal in several countries and cultures. The bird was also listed in the Bible as being unfit for human consumption as it was a scavenger of dead bodies. Moreover, the bird was exceptionally intelligent and was considered a pest on human crops. It used to be actively hunted down to cull its numbers and its meat was used to feed animals.

In a few countries like Lithuania, the bird was used a food source only when food was scarce. It was cooked into a large variety of dishes, but, with a rise in income levels, consumption of crow meat gradually reduced.

Recently, the meat has acquired a reputation of being an aphrodisiac. As a result, active hunting of the bird for its meat has increased. In America, hunting crows to cull their numbers is allowed from August to March.

Popular Crow Meat Recipes

  • Summer Crow Kebabs are prepared with the breast sections of the bird. The meat is brined and marinated and then grilled with sweet corn, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Soy sauce, teriyaki sauce or paprika are used as flavorings.
  • Country C medallions are prepared from deboned breast of crow. The meat is simmered with onions, bacon, turnips, celery, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, bay leaves, juniper berries, marjoram, paprika, and oregano.
  • Pan fried or barbequed crow is prepared by brining the meat and then soaking it in the marinade of choice. The meat is then quickly pan fried, or barbequed as required.

Preferable Cooking Methods for Crow Meat

Crow meat is tough with a very low fat content. As a result, it is advisable to soak the breast meat for 2 hours to overnight in salt water. This will soften the meat and increase flavoring. After the brining process, it is also suggested that the brined crow meat should be marinated for 24 hours in herbs and a mayonnaise-based dressing to soften the meat further. The meat can then be roasted, simmered, braised, pan fried or grilled as required.

Trivia
Crows have been identified as carriers of the West Nile Virus. This is an encephalitis type virus that is very dangerous to humans. Crows are prime carriers of the virus as they are sensitive to the mosquito that carries the virus.
