Current account deficit ni tofauti ya exports na imports.
Tofauti ya miaka miwili iliyopita mwezi kama huu imports zimepungua kufikia $3.6billion, wakati mwaka jana mwezi kama hubilikuwa $4.7, maana yake nchi imepunguza current account balance defit by $1.1 (if you want to believe, I don’t).
But that’s not news siku zote tuna trade deficits na hakuna jitihada za ukweli la kutatua hilo tatizo.
Hata hizo exports zenyewe nyingi ni on papers kwa sababu faida ya organisation kama Twiga minerals (previous ACCACIA) which counts as export, hiyo hela mwisho wa siku inaenda kwa Barrick share holders ambao wapo nje ya nchi. Hairudi kwenye mzunguko wa uchumi ndani ya Tanzania (it’s a withdrawal) this why some people don’t like the gdp equation as the economic assessment.
Kuelezea in details story ni nyingine ndefu, the challenges are as similarly as trying to evaluate the merit of such a report whereby the necessary data to support or counter argue the findings aren’t in the public domain.
