What stop Raila taking home 10%? His human and Kenya isn't he? But you should know gov large project involves number of people and bodies, from legislators, do technical team in and out of gov. Sometime money do exchange hand for project to ease through.Kenya: Prime Minister Speaks at Ground Breaking Ceremony of Proposed Lamu Port
lapsset was under Raila's office. ..... unless you want to tell me raila alitaka kula 10%
I have already shown the cargo projection up to 2030 when the project will be complete, Mombasa port haitatosha mboga, Currently there are 4, 500 vehicles each single day travelling of Mombasa-Nairobi two lane highway.... the road to Lamu will be hustle free for cargo traffic , it will completely open up another trade route thus making Kenya logistics and economy more resilient, its unbeleivable that we have suvived this long relying on just one port that was built to serve only 500k TEUs
Apart from all that, yes Kenya needed another port but that was not my argument. My argument was the cost or but building Lamu was supposed to be managed by selling services to Uganda South Sudan and Ethiopia. As we speak, there is little sign that those counties are gearing up for Lamu. Security is still a challenge, transportation is not in place, meaning no rail line to connect Lamu and those countries. If Rail or Kibaki were to realise that the facility would be to serve Kenya's goods only, they wouldn't commit themselves to the project of that magnitude unless they were wrongly advice by the people who were looking after their own benefit (10%).
