Tanzania said in January it was seeking a loan of $200 million from the World Bank for its debt-ridden state power supplier Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) after the country's president refused to allow the utility to raise prices to cover costs.

President John Magufuli wants cheap electricity to drive industrialisation, but the World Bank is likely to insist the loss-making utility increases prices so it can cover the cost of producing power and begin much-needed reforms.

TANESCO has debts of $363 million, up from $250 million at the end of 2015.

While I can not ascertain the veracity of the OP. It is clear to any country that kenyan immigrants form a crucial backbone for any country western or african. For years botswana has relied on kenyan expertise and kenyan business acumen to drive their economy. America also ranked kenyan among the top performing immigrant community in their country with many working in high skill sectors eg Tesla,Google, doctors, Academicians in their universities etc. One of the largest beef cattle farms in botswana is owned by a kenyan, the IT policy of Rwanda was formulated by a kenyan. Traffic problems in london were solved by a kenyan in the UK, a kenyan once headed the american consumer product giant procter and gamble. The list is quite long.
