Lousy weather, long commutes, rising unemployment and high sales tax. Welcome home.

Chicago would seem to be on quite a roll these days. The city is a leading contender to host the Summer Olympics in 2016. The hometown Cubs had the most wins of any team in the National League last year and are one of the early favorites to win the 2009 World Series. And, of course, one of its own just became the most powerful person in the world (we're not talking about Oprah either, but she's close).

So with all of the good vibes coming out of Chicago, how does it show up as the third worst city on our second annual list of America's Most Miserable Cities?

Lousy weather, long commutes, rising unemployment and the highest sales tax rate in the country are to blame for the Windy City being near the top of our list. High rates of corruption by public officials didn't help either.

My Take: The big ATL is where it's at....

LOL, I thought Indiana ndio wana the highest unemployment in the nation 15% or something?
 
Do not forget the fourteen year old boy who impersonated a police officer. He was able to be assigned a partner and worked for five hours in a traffic beat. That was my favorite Chicago story this year. I keep asking myself what did this kid talk with his partner the police officer? How secure are the police station? Oh Lord.
 
I live near chicago and i must say that going there is always enjoyable for me. I never lived there, but given the chance i would. Although the economy is not that great, or taxes are ridiculous, theres an aura about chicago that sticks with you, that helps you over look its shortcomings. This place is very diverse and many are given an equal chance there whether your from africa to china. Many communities of ethnicity is there. Dont give up on the windy city which attracts many poor and rich. Its my small paradise away from home.

BTW chicago is a great city for really hakuna kama chicago na ukizingatia sasa hivi imekuwa historical state you cannot beat that....as far as i know a lot of peeps who visits chicago huwa wana end up to fall in love with the city....how great the city kuna kila kitu hapa sema tuu economy imeharibu mambo and wait untill hiyo 2016 wakati wa mashindano ya dunia read my words yatafanyika chicao this time...watch.
