China has become the world's biggest producer and consumer of tea, said the country's minister of agriculture, Han Changfu, at the opening ceremony of the First China International Tea Expo.

China produced more than 2.4 million tons of tea in 2016, with a cultivated area of 2.87 million hectares, ranking number one in the world. In addition, tea consumption in China has surpassed 2 million tons.

Both tea and its culture originated in China, Han said. Chinese people started cultivating tea more than 5,000 years ago. As a symbol of the ancient Silk Road, tea was also a bond between China and the rest of the world.

Kweli, ikifatwa na India, na nafasi ya tatu, ni nchi ya kiafrika Kenya, nchi ambayo asilimia kubwa ni jangwa. Nchi ndogo sana ukilinganisha na hizo mbili za kwanza. Alafu hizo nafasi za tatu za kwanza duniani huwa tunapishana kila mwaka, Kenya, India, China.

Hii info ya rais Uhuru na chai uliitoa hapa Jf au? Maua ambayo Kenya pia ni miongoni mwa nchi zinazoongoza hapa Afrika kwa export zimekuwa zikifanyiwa marketing kule uchina hata kabla ya ziara ya rais U.K kule uchina. Kwa miaka miwili sasa export ya maua ya Kenya imekuwa ikiongezeka China. Hiyo ni bidhaa moja tu ambayo nimekutajia, hayo mengine jiongeze mwenyewe. Acha kufata tu umbea wa hapa Jf.

According to this website, Kenya is Number 1 exporter of tea.

China is number 1 producer, India is number 2 producer, but these two countries consume most of the tea they've produced internally.

Tea exporters and top tea growing countries in the world

Either way, we're doing great.

Unfortunately you can't produce enough food for your consumption, mnasingizia desert, hii chai mnalima wapi?, sasa mbona mnapouza hii chai hampati pesa ya kutosha kununua chakula badala yake mbadhalilika kwa kusaidiwa chakula?.Capitalism kills.

Kenya hununua chakula chake.
Lakini Tanzania hata kuzika waadhiriwa wa ferry mnangoja msaada wa Kenya.
 
Nilijua tu mambumbumbu wataibuka na za sijui mnakuza chai badala ya mahindi, mchele au ngano(ambazo pia zinakuzwa kwa wingi Kenya). Swali langu kwao, hivi wanajua kwanini majani chai, kahawa, maua, na mirungi pia huwa zinaitwa CASH CROPS kwa kimombo? Wajiulize pia kwanini wakulima wao huwa wanapenda kuwauzia wakenya mazao yao badala ya kuuzia serikali yao.

Ndio maana nikamueleza mleta mada kwamba huwa tunapishana na China pamoja na India kwenye top three duniani, inategemea unaangalia kupitia angle ipi, production au export. Wanaproduce zaidi yetu, ila wao wamezaana kweli kweli, kwahivyo soko la ndani kwa ndani wanalo. Kenya huwa mara nyingi tunaexport zaidi yao kwasababu baada ya kutosheleza soko la ndani majani bado huwa yanabaki mengi tu.

Always talking about msosi. You people are so gluttonous.Kenyans eat to live whereas you live to eat. Hiyo ni tofauti mojawapo kati ya wabongo na wakenya .there a lot of gluttons in your country
