The chances of funding next phase of Standard Gauge Railway line from Nairobi Naivasha have drastically reduced after China the main financier of project threatened to impose trade sanctions on Kenya.

China is angry with Kenya's move to cancel all applications for importation of fish from their market terming the move as a trade war which they would retaliate to by cutting economic ties.

Speaking to a section of Kenyan politicians on Tuesday, October 30, China's Acting Ambassador Li Xuhang confirmed Kenya's department of fisheries had served their consulate with letter imposing ban of importation of fish from their market.

"We have received letter from the department of fisheries canceling all fish importation applications from China. The move is shocking and we could respond to it the was we did with the US after it imposed tariffs on goods from our markets," Xuhang said.
The department of fisheries was prompted to make the notice by President Uhuru Kenyatta's proposal to government officials to devise creative means to ensure Chinese fish which had flooded local market does not get into the country.

However, on Wednesday the embassy climbed down, saying that as a strategic partner, China will not be engaged in a trade war with Kenya “or even associate the issue of fish import with other cooperative projects”.
In a statement, it instead issued a challenge to local entrepreneurs. “We expect the participating Kenyan enterprises at the upcoming China International Import Expo in Shanghai, to take advantage of this opportunity to let Kenyan products be recognised by Chinese market, thus opening a door to more Kenyan products.”

I will not engage in a meaningless discussion with you. We have heard flyovers since early 90s, Waiyaki way dual carriage, Thika dual carriage, these were roads built in the late 80s and early 90s, more recently Thika Highway, construction started in 2008,
there are many more from there, they don't even make news anymore... from the Southern Bypass, Outering road etc
The number of roads with fly-overs in Kenya are so many, kwama huko TZ ukidanganywa na serikali ya CCM mkizidua dreamliner moja halafu mnadanganywa mko mbele ya kila nchi East Africa.
