The proposed compensation raise for government officials will take effect on August 1, 2026, according to Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, giving thousands of public employees across a pay hike.
Speaking in Londiani, Kericho County, CS Ruku stated that President William Ruto's compensation reform will benefit all civil personnel.
According to him, the salary adjustment will cover both basic income and important benefits given to government workers.
In order to ensure that legitimate public employees benefit from the salary increase and that ghost workers are removed from the government payroll, the CS further ordered all government institutions to transfer their payrolls to the Government Human Resource Information System right away.
