Hydroxyl molecule (OH) imetengenezwa kutokana na one atom of Oxygen (O), na one atom of Hydrogen (H). If you remove oxygen atom from Hydroxyl molecule, what remains is Hydrogen (H), and if you remove Hydrogen atom you remain with (O).
RNA has one extra Hydroxyl (OH) than DNA, because one atom of Oxygen was removed from Hydroxyl molecule from position 2. Please read all books in science you will get the same explanations like this.
