This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded

Now, 14 aircraft in total. That is a whole squadron right there. Now, the $418mn is not just for the aircraft only. Once the aircraft are bought, they have to be modified to meet the specifications of DoD. That same cost includes figures for training atleast 56 pilots (2 crew per aircraft and their subs in case of long missions) and we all know pilot training is not cheap. This is not a ww2 prop where bombs are targetted by site, it is capable of using smart munitions which are not cheap. The Air Tractor AT-802U aircraft can carry Mk-82 bombs, as well as Hellfire missiles, dual M260 seven-tube rocket launchers, and GAU-19/A three-barrel gatling guns. There are onboard sensors like radars for targeting, self defence from ground launched projectiles, communications, night flying capabilities, adverse weather flying e.t.c
The AT-802U combines an 3,629 kg payload and 10-hour ISR mission capability with the flexibility and responsiveness of a manned weapon system – for a fraction of the cost of unmanned aerial vehicle systems.
There's:

Question the media should be asking is, would you rather spend less or not at all and have that soldier on the frontline killed, or would you spend some bucks and have that soldier and his unit come home to their families?
