MY TAKE
  • 1 km of SGR in another countries in Africa $5-7 mln while in Tanzania is $3.5 mln!
  • diesel SGR is 3 times electrical SGR in running cost!
  • Tanzania's SGR is way more superior in tonnage capacity to be haulage than other SGR in Africa!
  • Tanzania SGR is faster (120km/h cargo n 160 km/h PAX) than other SGR than other SGRs around Africa (80 km/h cargo n 120 km/h PAX)! AND the speed can be increased to 250 km/h at no cost!
  • Mwanza city to be a logistic hub in the great lakes region, a massive inland depot (the largest in East and central Africa) is to be constructed at Fela in Mwanza city!

The line, from Morogoro to Makutupora, both in central Tanzania, will have the capacity to transport 17 million tonnes of cargo each year, RAHCO said.

As for load capacity listen to TRC Managing Director he has clearly explained 17 mln is the minimum tonnage! Science has always proven an axle load of 35 tons to have more capacity tof carry more cargo than that of 25 tons! The rest is ukunya argument!

SGR yetu ni ya kiwango cha hali ya juu sn yn kila siku inavyozidi kuisha waturuki wanazidi kutushangaza, wallahi JPM alikuwa na nia thabiti na nchi yake, yn hii SGR ni haijawahi kuwepo Africa, ni Europe standard.
