Artist Otile Brown continues to make headlines inside and outside Kenya following a series of interviews in various media outlets.
His recent interview with content creator Oga Obinna on his YouTube channel has stirred mixed emotions, among fellow artists from neighbouring Tanzania.
The artist claimed that with the money he earns in Kenya if he goes to Tanzania, he would live like a prince in a grand palace.
Brown stated that the amount he pays for rent in the house he lives in Kenya, if he takes that amount and rents a house in Tanzania, he would get a magnificent mansion similar to a royal palace.
"The amount I pay for rent here in Kenya, that rent money, if I were in Tanzania, I would be living in a palace," the artist said as Obinna asked him if housing availability in Tanzania is affordable.
Despite saying it casually without seeming to belittle his colleagues, some music industry stakeholders from Tanzania felt that the artist was mocking his fellow artists.
Previously, Otile made headlines in the same interview after claiming that no artist from the entire East African region has reached international standards.
Otile said not even Diamond has reached those standards despite being considered the artist who has lifted East Africa the most internationally.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Otile has provoked his colleagues from Tanzania. Some time ago, Otile mocked the chains of artists Diamond and Mbosso, which they claimed were expensive gold, saying they were just fake jewelry.
