Cost comparison SGR Kenya vs SGR Tanzania

Cost comparison SGR Kenya vs SGR Tanzania

so you moved to phase 2 without completing phase 1?
What next ,you move to the rwandan border and build a 40 km stretch while leaving phase 1 and 2 incomplete?
You guys are pure unadulterated cornucopia of confusion and stupid combined.
It seems a little bit complicated to u kenyans but the answer is our Giant country has enough money to finance all the projects at the same time, don't compare.p

where is the electric train? You do not have it and not even thought of buying them.
Where is the track? It is not complete and stuck in the first 200 km meaning you have only 120 km of metal on the ground.
Incase you did not understand let me pump it into your sewer rat Tanzanian IQ.
Your sgr does not exist.
No electric trains, No power and an incomplete track.
You have not finished the first 200 km, for God's sake even a toddler will see you are a complete moron for comparing your hopeless project to an operational modern service.
Tanzanians truly you are the idiots of east africa.
Its real crazy to talk with from kunya bcause they are both dumb n stupidy at the sametime....hey yooh noncompoop...deal with your level....y will never ever compare electric train with diesel trush from chinese .....shut up n deal with it...[emoji582][emoji582][emoji582][emoji1241][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

The first 200 km has a delay over 1 year and it seems all construction has slowed. You have not even procured trains. The contractor wants to import steel since your ony steel company went bankrupt while supplying your project, but your government will not let it import.
Forget the trains just enough power to power the trains is not there and you are depending on another pipe dream dam.
You have not even started the process of buying trains. Your train stations are not yet complete
All this delay and it is only 200 km, Kenya took 3 years to build 485 km and 200 km is a problem to Tanzania.
Pipelines have stalled and the project is now in limbo. You are now begging everybody to forgive your debts
Get your house in order first before you compare yourselves to the third largest economy in sub saharan africa.
Even if it delayed for a year its electric you nincompoop so mind your level to deal with...we dont talk diesel...so why dont you discus your esiriaraa with our Mgr....at list we can listern your concern[emoji4][emoji4]

Do not compare the time of completion btn ur diesel sgr and Tz electric sgr, u have never built electric railways, just compare ur sgr to our mgr because they are the same.

Mvua zilianza toka october mwaka jana hadi May mwaka huu, ndo maana hadi serikali wanalalamikia mvua kubwa zimeharibu miundo mbinu.

Wizara haiwezi kukosa hela kisa haijaclear bills za reli or other things like water, electricity or whatever! Hayo ni maneno tu hayana mbele wala nyuma!

simple tu, mishahara nayo si sehem ya budget za wizara? now think again about what you have written!

$1.2 Million For Ethiopia-Sudan Railway Study By The AfDB.

The two-year, comprehensive feasibility study will assess the proposed project’s technical, economic, environmental and social viability
ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, June 9, 2020/ — The African Development Bank’s Board of Directors has approved a $1.2 million grant to Ethiopia’s government to finance a feasibility study for construction of a standard-gauge railway (SGR) link between Ethiopia and neighbouring Sudan.

The grant, from the African Development Fund, the Bank Group’s concessional-rate lending arm, would cover 35% of the total estimated $3.4 million cost of the study. The remaining funding will be provided by the NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF) in the form of a $2-million grant, and by a contribution of $100,000 each from the two countries involved. The financing was approved in January.

The two-year, comprehensive feasibility study will assess the proposed project’s technical, economic, environmental and social viability, as well as alternative financing arrangements, including a public-private partnership (PPP).

The railway line will link Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to Khartoum in Sudan, with an extension to Port Sudan on the Red Sea. The route, agreed by both governments, stretches 1,522 kilometres between Addis Ababa and Port Sudan.

According to the document presented to directors of the African Development Fund, the absence of a regional arterial route linking Ethiopia, Sudan and other countries in the Horn of Africa is a brake on trade, development and regional integration. The movement of goods and people between Sudan and Ethiopia often requires the use of several modes of transport, which increases costs and lengthens journey times.

The feasibility study’s findings will be keenly awaited because its implementation would benefit a large proportion of Ethiopia’s 110 million people and 43 million inhabitants of Sudan, as well as populations in the wider region.

The proposed project is aligned with the Bank’s Country Strategy Paper 2016-2020 for Ethiopia. It is also consistent with the long-term development goals of the Sudanese Government, as set out in its national 25-year strategy (2007-2031). It also accords with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy 2013-2022 and the operational priority of infrastructure development. The proposed project also would satisfy four of the Bank’s High 5 strategic priorities: Integrate Africa, Feed Africa, Industrialize Africa, and Improve the Quality of Life for the People of Africa.

Duh!
