Somewhere around the 80's engineers building skyscrapers switched from using steel structure to reenforced concrete , there are many factors to which I can't guess, but I think this will help..

With the way Yepi has been late in meeting deadlines and how they have to do cost cutting measure, they probably thought its cheaper to just import ready made structure rather than make them from scratchVS
