Non performing loans simply means that you borrowed money for projects and the projects failed and now you are unable to repay the loan. or for individual borrowers you acquired an unsecured loan on the strength of your payslip and due to economic downturn you lost your job and now you are jobless and cannot afford to repay your loan.
If the above analogy does not paint a clear picture of the state of the tz economy, then I don't know what will.
