DEMOCRACY, THE RULE OF IGNORANT
Surely these words , he says, the ancient Greek philosopher , Plato . When he observed that the rule of democracy is a stupid rule . He stood on argument that democracy itself covers a multitude and are the ones most often heard and make decisions . Second, most of these people , perhaps decide without being even aware about what they are deciding. Even if it is stupid , being a democracy, so many of them their views are accepted as right.
These ideas of Plato , many who think otherwise, they will see them as stupid and foolish . But in one way or another these ideas quite glaring in Tanzania , especially in an ongoing process right now of getting a new constitution . Plainly following reveals democratic ignorance :
1. The process of getting a new constitution , had to start from the lowest level to collect public opinions, in order that it is constitutional democratic available through public opinion to express what they wish to present in a new constitution . The Commission is formed to collect citizens' opinions and opinions were assembled , the draft was written about public opinions to go away for the present in their contract with the central government. What a strange , if not absurd that revealed by Plato ! Some Tanzanians today rejects the views that blaming the commission to collect views of the Constitution. Doing so is contradictory on their own , so they did not know and that is ridiculous. Surely this is the ignorance of the followers of democracy and these people are ignorant.
2 . Democracy have many leaders who do not know what they do . These leaders do not rule for citizens benefits; they rule for their own sake and not the people . They do not know how to be able to deliver it to lead the nation in wins, and lead for the betterment of the society. This country of Tanzania , has many leaders of this type , say they decided to enact laws that protect them do what they want and are willing to change the rules probably so they can share in the good things that they have interest on them. Example, some lawmakers , decided to pass a law that requires all get involved in the constitutional process because there's an interest concerning them.
3. In the Special Parliamentary for constitution, most of MPs contribute by saying that their arguments have been sent by the people to say so , intended to wear scaled representation of the country when the legislature that it has nothing to do at all with the public represented as citizens participated directly in the process of giving their views in the new constitution as the initial stage . For the guise of democracy they claim they are the representatives of the people . Democracy is the ignorant rule for the ignorant.
4. Members of the commission did not ingratiate constitution and accepted , but were appointed by top government officials . But curiously, these members today seem to not do anything and have written thoughts that are not of the people , at that time, citizen who were involved to express their views have never said that comments which are written in the constitution is not theirs , instead; leaders are the ones pointing fingers . They are being accused for work they had done . This process reveals that a leader who delegated the members of commission the power to collect constitution opinions in faith, and then today he resists , he is resisting against himself and this proves the truth of Plato, that democracy is absurd.
5. Democracy its people are not aware of the truth in its nature, and perhaps that very real truth in sense when is proved by someone,the ignorant people reject it. This is seen clearly in this country , especially when someone else sees beyond revealing the truth in real sense, many oppose and attack him wanting to be called a traitor. It is not their problem , but they live in ignorance of that deceitful world who can not see the truth .
So , for those few , I'm tempted to completely without qualms agree with Plato that democracy especially in African countries is resulted from ignorant majority and thus is not the rule to be applied at all.
