Robert Alai

'Robert Alai Has Been Arrested!' For What?? For Publicly Sharing Uhuru Kenyatta's Phone Number?! Oh,Please! You Must Be Kidding Me!

Yesterday morning,(14th December) Robert Alai, the national provocateur, publicly shared The President's personal phone number; including that of the Deputy President and of 2 high-ranking state house mandarins. And then all hell broke loose.

Robert Alai is not new to controversy. He wears the cap perfectly. And so when he shared the private phone numbers of the Nation's leaders( something he has done before, anyway) a section of The President's buffoonish supporters raided his virtual house, baying for his blood, calling for his immediate arrest and even worse, suggesting that he DESERVED to be assassinated! What nonsense!

Alai,I want to believe, didn't share out the contacts out of malice or ill-will. He never does, anyway. I am pressed to believe that Alai shared out the contacts out of what he felt was the Government's laxity in dealing with the cataclysmic Kainuk disaster.

For close to 5 days now, angry residents of Kainuk,in Turkana have blockaded a road causing a monumental traffic jam of over 300 cars for what they said was insecurity in the area. And as we speak, hundreds of innocent people have been held hostage in the village of Kainuk, unable to proceed with their travels, unable to find water or food or sanitation even triggering attention from The Red Cross.

All this is a result of the injudicious actions of the incensed Kainuk residents who, after blocking a whole road with debris and felled trees, decided that the road can only be re-opened for public use after none less than THE PRESIDENT himself shows up and addresses the volatile situation. This has plunged hundreds of Kenyans into a quagmire...Including defenseless women and children.

Robert Alai, therefore, must have acted out of desperation and frustration with the Governments sluggish response to the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.
But after publicizing the hallowed President's phone number, and those of his deputy and 2 other Government operatives,Alai was met with the harshest and vilest comments and acidic reactions from an irate section of Social Media's Jubilee Constituency.

As usual,Alai was called names after names, harangued and berated, abused and ridiculed and,as usual, too, had his manhood, and that of his community, dragged, yet again,to the histrionics. And an hour later, rumors of Alai's arrest started spreading.

It was a shameful display of hardheadedness and arrogance by the peppery Jubilee support gang.

Hasn't the President HIMSELF always encouraged us to reach out to him? In whichever ways?? Hasn't he always fashioned himself as the ever-accessible Man Of The People? Ofcourse,He has!

Kenyatta has never hidden his desire to want to be accessed. Or talked to. Or approached.

Since his inauguration,The President and his not-so-amiable Deputy have carved out this "We Will Always Be With You" image. Appearing in public doing what no President has ever done...Including taking a Matatu ride to state house, posing for selfies, hugging compete strangers in rallies and inviting talented whizkids to state house,Kenyatta has almost always told us to try as much as possible to reach him. Without fear.

And who can forget the amazing story of one Anita Iminza Lipesa who, after a series of unsuccessful harambees, decided to send The President a text message asking him to help her family pay off a colossal hospital bill for their deceased sister Caroline Lipesa Muhati.

Ms Caroline Lipesa's body had been detained at the Nairobi Women's Mortuary for close to two months over the Family's failure to pay up the Sh.3.5 Million bill she had accumulated.

Unable to pay up the bill or,even worse, collect their sisters body for burial,Anita sat down one morning and sent Uhuru Kenyatta a text message asking him to help the family offset the bill. And amazingly,The President called a short 30 minutes later, asking Anita to go collect her sisters body as the humongous bill had been taken care of!

Who gave Ms. Anita Uhuru Kenyatta's number? Was it Robert Alai? And if it was, doesn't that mean that Alai's efforts yielded positive results?

Also,if Alai didn't give Anita the President's number, who did?? And why wasn't Anita "arrested" for texting the President?

Also,by heeding to Anita's call and answering her pleas through such an unorthodox manner as a direct Presidential phone call, didn't Uhuru Kenyatta encourage us that it as Okay to text him with all manner of our problems?? However trivial or personal?

And if Uhuru Kenyatta found Anita's plight worthy of attention and an immediate phone call, even though it was a private family matter, wouldn't he also respond as quickly to the much grander and national issue as the Kainuk tragedy?

But according to the irascible Uhuru-Ruto supporters, sharing The President and His Deputy's Contacts across Social Media is as sacrilegious a move as desecrating a holy shrine. To them,Alai committed a blasphemy. And to others,He had crossed the line and,for that,he reserved immediate arrest, detention, torture and death.

Hii seketa ilianza wakati jamaa alipochapisha namba za simu za rais Uhuru Kenyatta akiwasihi watu wampigie simi na kumuuliza usalama wa wakenya waliotekwa nyara kule Kainuk mitaa ya Turkana.

ROBERT ALAI ONYANGO:

I will never allow the contacts of any public official to be private. Those policemen sent to arrest me should go to Kainuk.

Those jubilants celebrating that Robert Alai Onyango is arrested shame on you...he is eating late evening snack of fish somewhere in Kariobangi. Kenya is not Ce...ntral it is a democracy. President is for the whole country not your tribe. Hahahahaha! Legally speaking, you cannot commit an offense: felony or misdemeanor by sharing your President's phone contact for purpose of national interest. We shared the numbers so you ask him why we have incountry siege ‪#‎KainukSiege‬. Come slowly with your misplaced celebrations...

Ndegwa Muhoro believe that Alai should be arrested for calling what Uhuru and Waiguru is doing in Kibera, "Kalongolongo."

Two Deputy Directors of CID saw no offence commited but Ndegwa Muhoro who is Kimemia's nephew thinks that he must please Kamwana.

Presidency and leadership needs maturity

Ngongo, mfianchi,....ile sheria sasa imeanza kutumika kwa raia wa kawaida na sio Al-Shabaab kama
wanavodai. Kenya inaelekea pabaya wakuu.

AB whats good mkuu? The problem is not the president, the sycophancy that he so much enjoys and surrounds himself with is the problem, the likes of Moses Kuria, Sonko, Duale, Dennis Itumbi, and Most of his Kikuyu voting block will be his undoing.

His constituents have carved him out as a god, the prince of Gatundu, beyond reproach, and its now blasphemous to ridicule him. The 'security' bill is a sham, and was not intended for terrorists, its main purpose is to muzzle Kenyans especially on social media.

I honestly think the man on the hill, whether by information that he holds or shear paranoia, fears for an Arab spring like oust. If the bill passes without amendments or someone who fights for the good of wanjiku is detained (read Boniface Mwangi), people will go to the streets, the opposition, civil societies, and disgruntled Kenyans (who are very many) will demonstrate in droves, and this time tear gas will not stop us from removing a dictatorial president who is slowly rolling back all our democratic rights just because he smokes some dank weed that makes him paranoid, he should contact me I hook him up with that Malawi gold or some Shashamane,

ohh I forgot, I have his number, I'll text him. Thanks Alai

Smatta

Im good cuz, Im with you in all that you have said above. The paranoia surrounding this guy is unexplainable ama labda ni ile boza anavuta....there's some types that will just have you paranoid to the fullest mazee. Inabidi abadili pusher.

This clique that surrounds UK has really disappointed many...even his hard core supporters and tribesmen. I had no problems with this guy being orezo mainly banking on the fact that he went to school at Saints then had sojourn here in the States. Kwa hivyo I saw him as a 'chanukaad' guy but when he started surrounding himself with Kibaki's old guard, I cringed.

I just figured we will be in for some same old same old...where the tribe runs supreme over the citizenry. His carelessness in handling appointments to state offices has really brought him out as a tribalist per se. Then the likes of Moses Kuria going around bashing Luos everyday on his social media pages..kila kitu anasema 'mara foreskin this, mara foreskin that'...it has become irritating bordering on insanity.

I wonder why UK is not muzzling the guy up? That son of a gun should be in court. Or by the way did you see the list by gay dude who claims to have slept with Moses Kuria?...that speaks volumes about his ways. No wonder the obsession.

I really pray for my country and its people...all 42 tribes...even with UK being Prezdo, bado kuna jamaa la kabila lao wanalia njaa mbaya sana na hata hawana sehemu za kuishi. Do you think UK cares about them?...

Nada! He is more obsessed with protecting his stolen presidency and promoting corrupt individuals whenever and wherever possible. Morio, this guy has phwacked us mbaya mbofu...using his ill gotten wealth from his dad to turn the August house into a rubber stamp. I cry for my country!

CID boss Ndegwa Muhoro wants Alai held for seven days without any charge or complainant. Kiambu Court has refused to admit the case saying that it is poorly crafted.

Kenya Decides

Kenya's official opposition and civil society congregated at Ufungamano House this morning to deliberate on the draconian Security Amendment Bill 2014. The event wasbroadcast live on KTN. However, the management of the station decided to take it off air when Raila Odinga who is the CORD leader was starting to read ten reasons why Kenyans should opposed this bill. This was the highlight of the event who most missed because of KTN taking it off-aair for a commercial break and for news updates. Find below the TEN REASONS as was to be

TEN REASONS WHY THE SECURITY LAWS (AMENDMENT) BILL IS DANGEROUS:

1. It takes away the right to assemble, demonstrate, picket and present petitions to public authorities. By giving the Cabinet secretary power to decide where and when people can assemble, demonstrate, picket and present petitions, trade union activity can now be neutralised, political activity can be controlled and government will become dictatorial.

2. It introduces a new type of law that makes people responsible for the actions of others. This is what they mean when they say a person convicted of convening a rally, meeting or procession will be made liable for any loss suffered. Trade unions will now be liable to companies for economic loses resulting from strikes or to the government for causing traffic jams.
3. It takes away the power to declare curfew from the Inspector General of Police to Cabinet Secretary. The decision to impose curfew will now not be made based on a professional security risk assessment but on the political grounds since the Inspector General has roles placed on him by the constitution but the Cabinet secretary has none.
4. It restricts the right of the people to receive information if that information is considered obscene, gory or offensive. The Act does not define what is "obscene", "gory", or "offensive" and this will now depend on the police. The Constitution has already stated what information is forbidden and the amendment is trying to add more restrictions.
5. It takes away the right of an accused person to be told what evidence the prosecution has. It is a basic right for an accused person that he must be informed what evidence will be used against him before the trial. We saw at the International Criminal Court at The Hague our President complaining that Prosecution was withholding evidence. He now must uphold for Kenyans the rights he was demanding when he was himself an accused person.
6. It requires an accused person to disclose his witnesses and evidence to the Police. It is another basic right for the accused that he cannot be compelled to disclose anything to the prosecution. We also saw our president protest very strongly at the ICC when the prosecution applied to Kenya to give the prosecution information. The president must also respect the same rights for the rest of Kenyans.
7. It institutionalises the military into our civilian institutions by putting them in the Firearms Licensing Board and Inter-agency security advisory committee. One great tradition of Kenya is that we keep our military out of civilian affairs. It is one of the reasons we remained stable when other Africa countries experienced military coups. Even today, countries that allowed the military into civilian affairs are the most unstable in Africa including Egypt, Nigeria, Uganda, North and South Sudan. Civilian authorities need to be replaced using civilian methods while military can only be removed by military.
8. It gives the right to any police officer to obtain information from landlords about tenants even without requiring the existence of an investigation against the tenant and suspend your driving licence. We know our police men and we know that allowing them to check on landlords is only opening up a new plantation for them to harvest where they did not sow. Susension of driving licenses is also a new cash cow for the police. All public service vehicle drivers and owners can expect the worst when police acquire this power.
9. It brings back to Kenya the dreaded special branch in a more lethal formation. The NIS now has power to enter and search premises and to take away any property that they want without having to get a warrant from court or being accountable to anyone. The decision is entirely that of the NIS officer.
10. It limits the right of the media to give true and accurate information. The restrictions on media under the proposed law would have made the entire media coverage of Westgate attack illegal. We would only have known what the Police wanted us to know. The coverage of Mandera attacks would also have been illegal.

Blogger held over Uhuru cell number

BY STAR REPORTER

Blogger Robert Alai will this morning appear in court to answer to charges of misuse of social media. Alai was arrested yesterday by CID officers from the Cyber Crime Unit after he tweeted President Uhuru Kenyatta's cell phone number and that of his PA Jomo Gecaga last Sunday.

Alai also tweeted the cell phone numbers of Deputy President William Ruto and noted in his tweet that the public can call and ask the President and his aides about the protests in Kainuk, Turkana.

Sources at the CID said Alai was to spend the night at Muthaiga police station. The police will press charges of misuse of a telecommunication gadget. Alai was yesterday taken to a Kiambu court but he was not charged.

In his tweets, Alai is also said to have ridiculed the cleanup exercise in Kibera as "Kalongolongo", which in Dholuo means games played by children. In other tweets yesterday, Alai said police had directed him to report to Embakasi CID after which he was arrested by officers from the CID headquarters.

Alai has in the past been engaged in a public spat with top government officials, including former head of Public Service Francis Kimemia.

Kimemia has sued Alai for defamation. Last year, Kimemia told a Nairobi court that on March 24, 2013, Alai said Kimemia was in the company of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Issack Hassan, High Court judge Isaac Lenaola and former Police Commissioner Hussein Ali at a hotel in Karen. Kimemia told the court that Alai tweeted hours before the hearing of the presidential election petition filed after Cord leader R3aila Odinga and the coalition disputed March 4, 2013 Uhuru election. Kimemia said the tweets implied that he (Kimemia) was holding the meeting to influence the outcome of the petition.

Many people assume being an activist is easy, it's glamorous. It has instantaneous glory. This is because we have seen many activists such as Wangari Maathai and Malala Yousafzai win peace prizes for all their trouble.

But what most people do not know is that before you reach a level where you get recognized for your efforts there is hell to pay. For example Malala was shot in the head at 14 years by the Taliban for promoting female education. And you all know what happened to Wangari Maathai in her quest to keep our country green.

Robert Alai Kenya's most controversial activist /provocateur / aggressor is now paying the price for stirrings the hornets' nest. His release of Uhuru's number and other dignitaries has had him locked up and now today he is being taken to court.

Alai is at the Holding cell at Kiambu Law Courts where he is awaiting trial but he managed to capture some pictures of the situation.

Arresting him is smack stupid. I would not want somebody sharing my number online and laws or not, Alai should have some decency in his conduct.

Robert Alai found himself in deep trouble this week after rubbing the government the wrong way. In his very nature, Alai is said to have posted derogatory remarks towards His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta hence triggering his arrest.
The arrest saw him spend the night in a-not-s0-hygienic place at the Kiambu cells. However, he was yesterday released on a cash bail of Sh300,000. He posted these photos of the cell he was locked up in. How he got the camera in there is anybody's guess....
