Can you notice the difference if for example you are signing a contract which may contain one of the following two statements?

1. You will have to pay a one-off subscription fee

2. You will have to pay a once-off subscription fee

Have you ever noticed that people use the phrase "have had" wrongly!

Can't understand what you are driving at! You give an example of the uses of 'one-off ' and 'once-off' then you end off by commenting that people use 'have had' wrongly. what's the connection Simplicity?

No connection, two different things.
