Doubts over Kenya, Uganda rail funding as China snubs meet

Hivi nyinyi mnajengea Uganda na Rwanda reli. That is one sick reasoning. I can't wait to use our railway line and like many Kenyans, we will enjoy the ride, the convenience and the scenery. Can you imagine riding through tsavo and Nairobi national park with a pristine view of the tallest building in Africa.

You and your fellow country men are a completely confused and beyond stupid lot...sgr ya kenya ina unganisha nairobi(capital city)..mombasa(port city)..nakuru(agribusiness hub)..na kisumu counties(port city) hadi malaba mpakani na uganda.hata uganda isipojenga upande wao haitatupunguzia lolote......we are building infrastructure for the benefit of kenyans

the thing is u'll b alone n repayment of the debt will be a long day dream

Kenya has already signed a commercial contract for phase 2C, which will run through Kisumu-Yala-Mumias to Malaba.

China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is scheduled to build a modern Sh14 billion port in Kisumu, which will be useful in connecting the rest of EAC states through Lake Victoria.

A modern container port in Kisumu is likely to turn the town into a trade hub for neighbouring countries such as Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

For decades, Kisumu port registered robust business boosted by a reliable railway system and maritime vessels that ferried cargo to ports such as Mwanza and Bukoba in Tanzania and Jinja and Port Bell in Uganda.

Uganda is yet to start building its section of the SGR while Kenya’s first phase, which runs from Mombasa to Nairobi, is 98 per cent complete and is expected to be operational by June.
The first phase of Uganda’s SGR is expected to start this year and is being built by China Harbour Engineering Company. It is expected to take four years to complete.

wamesoma tu uncertainity wakakimbia kufanya conclusion zinazowafurahisha wao wenyewe.
hawa wanaelewa maana ya neno hilo kweli? umesahau hawa ni wabongo? wacha na wao waendelee ku celebrate...watapigwa na butwaa

Tehehehee. This is a NO story. Uncertainty is the word. It means there are gray areas which will be streamlined anyway

All countries make decisions according to their Intrests,if Uganda find it cheaper to build their sgr with Tanzania, well and good. we need to focus first on the Kenya interest and that's having sufficient infrastructure network across the country.

80% of cargo coming from Mombasa is kenyan, SGR will transport only 50 % of the cargo from the port, so whether or not UG and the rest are roped in, it'll still be beneficial to us.

Hii reli imejengewa wakenya, mbona mnasahau?
