Mama wawilii said:
Thanks Pngu pakavu,am poor in writting but its worst when it comes to the issue of speaking,i dont have such a confidence to speak,i feel un comfortable and shame, but i have made my mind ,hope one day i will be fluent

With written English I advise that you always try to use short sentences. One could revise/break down your statement above into more sentences as follows:

Thanks Pangu Pakavu. I am poor in writting but its worse when it comes to the issue of speaking. I do not have such confidence in speaking, I feel uncomfortable and shy, but I have made up my mind. I hope one day I will be fluent.

Also note that the capital I (refering to self) - not i.

How are you all members this class! I was out of this class to almost a month now, I have glad to come back again to run the thread.

Today I would like to learn the difference of these two sentences below.

* The work is done

* The work has done.

What are these sentences differ from each other and what exactly mean?

The job in general is completed:

Kazi imefanywa / imemalizika.
The work is done.

WHO is doing the job?
Presently / Past

Kazi inafanywa/ imefanywa na John.
The work IS / WAS done by John.

The task has been completed successfully:

Kazi imefanyika.
The work has BEEN done.

"The work has done " is incorrect.

Those questions I asked came when I was reading some article from the magazine and when I complicated to understand they, I decided to ask the class here, so may be if was wrong it was problem of writer of an article. I only knew a kind of sentences were present perfect tense.

No problem.

Be aware that many reporters/writers of Tanzania English newspapers have poor command of English.

I hope my examples helped you understand better.

Open School,

When a person thinks that you are not good at computers or questions your ability to use computers, you add "DO" to "emphasize", to tell that person very strongly that :

I DO have the knowledge/skills to use computers. I studied it for 6 years!

DO" emphasize your ability "strongly" and you don't want your skills to be underestimated by him.

To go back to your question:

1. I know that.
2. I do know that.

Both versions of this sentence are correct.

The second is an "emphatic" version of the sentence.

In present simple and past simple sentences in English there is no auxiliary verb:

1. I study hard
2. She gave the money to him.
I know.

If we want to have an emphatic version of these sentences, we need to insert the dummy auxiliary DO.

This is the same auxiliary we use to make questions and negatives in the present and past simple.

Although in writing we cannot hear the stress, we know that the sentence is emphatic because it has an auxiliary verb:

1. I DO study hard. ( I study for many hours everyday, 7 days a week).

2. She DID give the money to him. ( I witnessed it, so she is not lying. She gave him the money for sure)

3.
A: You don't know that she's not a loyal girlfriend , do you? (You trust her easily)
B: I DO know!
(don't think I'm stupid. I have proof that she has many boyfriends)

4.
We DO understand that you have waited for three hours to see the doctor. But unfortunately, he's still in the operating room with another patient. We are very sorry to keep you waiting.

It is not a good idea to use DO in sentences unless you do actually want to give the sentence positive emphasis!

You can also emphasize something in a negative sentence using "Do not" or "Don't". They mean the same.

1. I DO NOT know him. (Why did you let him in my house?)

2. DO NOT touch the painting. (It is very expensive. You might damage it).

3. DO NOT ever raise your voice at me. (I am not your child, don't shout at me).

4. DON'T believe a word he's saying. (He lies a lot).

5. DO NOT smoke here!

6. DON'T touch me! (your hands are dirty).

7. I DO NOT understand a word he's saying. (he has a strong accent and I don't understand what he's trying to say to me).

Princess qute.

Welcome.

You can improve your listening skills and build your vocabulary by listening to the BBC or VOA.

You can also read English newspapers to improve your reading skills and also learn how to conjugate sentences correctly.

You can also practice talking with the netizens through apps such as PALTALK. This is a free site where people meet to take and listen to music online. They have a room specifically for English learners. Most of the language rooms are run by retired English Professors.

Join an English course and make friends. There should be many people who speak English around you. After all, it is one of Tanzania's official languages.

If you have any questions, just ask here as well. Many people volunteer to help others learn or improve their English skills.

I'm sure even President Magufuli passes here 🙂
