The big clubs in Serie A and in Europe could have an opportunity to land Torino striker Andrea Belotti in the coming months, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, talks over a renewal of Belotti’s deal – which expires in June 2022 – have never taken off nor have they even begun, which has started to attract the attention of some top clubs.

The player himself wants to test himself at a club that are competing for objectives higher than the one Torino are currently, so everything has virtually stalled regarding talks over a new year.

Torino president Urbano Cairo has resisted any attempts from clubs such as Milan, Inter and Tottenham, sticking to his asking price of €80m.

A new deal is not a simple economic question, as il Toro are willing to offer a pay rise, but Belotti wants ambitious club to support him with a high-level technical project. The stalemate means that Belotti’s profile continues to remain on the radar of the big clubs and, with his valuation obviously lower towards the expiry of his contract, new attempts are expected.

It is also worth noting that Milan will have a successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the back of their minds – a top quality centre-forward who offers the guarantee of goals.

The AC Milan management consider the investment made on Ismael Bennacer to be one of their best bits of recent business.

As Calciomercato.com notes, the Rossoneri parted with €16m to sign the Algeria international from Empoli in summer 2019 and after some initial teething problems he became the most impressive midfielder, eventually forming a devastating double pivot alongside Ivorian Franck Kessie.

Since his arrival at Milan, Bennacer has done nothing but raise the bar day after day and the turning point was when head coach Stefano Pioli decided to play two deeper-lying midfielders rather than sit Bennacer in front of the back four on his own.

Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali has also arrived to offer depth to the department and is a fantastic talent who Milan expect a lot from moving forward, but the club are in no hurry because of the guarantees that Bennacer and Kessie offer.

In terms of the transfer market, Milan have already made things clear: in Bennacer’s contract there is a €50million release clause, valid only for clubs abroad from June 2021 and that must be paid in a single instalment
