2013 report? How is Kenya situation faring in the last 3 years where strikes r never ending?
The average Kenyan still lives longer than the Averge Tanzanian.... And since you claim to be law abiding citizens who follow road traffic rules (more than Kenyans), and you don't have terrorism or high level crimes and don't suffer from perennial drought that causes food shortages... The only thing left that can justify Tanzania having a higher death rate is dying from diseases!!!

And we know most of your doctors cant even make the correct diagnosis 😂 😂 😂 😂 , And BTW, strikes don't make doctors dumber, the Kenyan doctors can go on strike but still, when they come back, they still do their job, whereas the Tanzanian Doctors can work 27/7 365 and still won't deliver anything as they keep making wrong diagnosis and dishing out the wrong medicines!!!!

Keep dreaming while in Kenya doctors r on strike even as we speak!

It is a fact that an average Tanzanian has a shorter life span than the average Kenyan despite the challenges of the average Kenya.... wewe ndo unaota! You should be asking why are the Kenyan doctors on strike???Because they have a very good welfare representation. Whenever something is not right they demand action by the government, and if the govenment doesnt take action, they use other coercive means . For example, doctors (or any employee for that matter) are supposed to either be promoted (or demoted) after working for a number of years in the same position, The govt agreed two years ago that this would happen, and now govt(county governments) are saying they don't have the money to promote the doctors while they keep loosing money through corruption... So this is the reason why doctors are going on strike now...... Now can I ask you what is the plight of the Tanzanian doctor? what kind of houses do they live in? are they well motivated? Do you know when was the last time their salaries were raised?

This was the reaction of Uganda medical Union about the WB report

Ugandan medics respond
Robinah Karitirimba, the executive director of Uganda national health users /consumers Organisation (UNHCO), disputed the report, saying the study was conducted in the lower health centre 2and 3s where diagnosis is likely to be poor because there a no doctors.

"There is something missing in the report but of course it raises something important about our health care system because most patients go to the lower health centres," she explained.

Kaitiritimba also disputed the allegation that the quality of Ugandan doctors is lower than that of their Kenyan colleagues. She said the only difference is that Kenya has a strong medical associations and the medics are better motivated.

Dr Katumba Ssentongo, the Uganda medical and dental practitioners council registrar, said cases of wrong diagnosis were exaggerated.

"Any practitioner can give wrong diagnosis at certain point .It happens even in Europe, but not to the levels the report put it."
