Lewis Hamilton will once again be wearing his rainbow race helmet to highlight LGBTQ+ and human rights issues in the Middle East this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton says he is not comfortable racing in Saudi Arabia this weekend as a result of the country's human rights record.
The seven-time world champion said: "Do I feel comfortable here? I wouldn't say I do. But it's not my choice to be here. The sport has taken a choice to be here.
"And whether it's right or wrong, while we are here, it's important we do try to raise awareness."
LEWIS HAMILTON IS ON POLE POSITION FOR THE SAUDI GP
''Hamilton indeed does go faster on his final lap to take pole, and it's disaster for Verstappen!
He was fastest in the first two sectors but he went too greedy on the final corner, and has crashed into the barrier!
What a way to bin it! He may have even damaged his car, he has broken his suspension and possibly his gearbox.
For now he is P3 on the grid. But if he had damaged his gearbox he may have to change it and suffer a grid penalty''.
JONATHAN MCEVOY IN QATAR: Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory in the inaugural Qatar GP to cut his world championship deficit to just eight points and set up a blockbuster end to the season.
Hamilton and Verstappen have clashed twice on track this season, including September's bizarre coming together at the Italian Grand Prix
FINAL LAP
Hamilton is going to romp home here. One of his strangest victories. He will surely claim the fastest lap point and that means they will be level on points heading into the final race. So much bad blood today. So much controversy. Hamilton might consider himself fortunate to still have a front wing but he has had the pace today. A lot of question marks over Verstappen's conduct here.
''Lap 38/58 Lewis Hamilton's have done 23 laps and he's got 20 still to go. Max Verstappen's tyres have done one lap and he's got 17 seconds to make up.''
Verstappen hoping for safety car ... ....42/58 .... .. 14s gap between LH n Varstappen
